Cameron Offices, Belconnen
The Cameron Offices are a series of former Commercial office, government offices commissioned by the National Capital Authority#1958–1989: National Capital Development Commission (NCDC), National Capital Development Commission and designed by John Andrews (architect), John Andrews in the Brutalist architecture, Brutalist Structuralism (architecture), structuralism style of architecture. The offices were constructed between 1970 and 1976 and partially demolished during 2007–08. They are located in the Belconnen Town Centre, in the district of Belconnen, located in Canberra, in the Australian Capital Territory, Australia. During their thirty-year life cycle, the Cameron Offices primary occupant was the Australian Bureau of Statistics. Belconnen () is a Lands administrative divisions of Australia#Australian Capital Territory, district in the Australian Capital Territory in Australia. The district is subdivided into 27 divisions (suburbs), sections and blocks. John Overall (architect)
Sir John Wallace Overall, (15 July 1913 – 2 September 2001) was an Australian Second World War veteran and architect. As inaugural Commissioner of the National Capital Development Commission from 1957 to 1972, he made a significant contribution to the development of Canberra. Early life Overall was born in Sydney, New South Wales, on 15 July 1913. He had humble beginnings and grew up with his sisters in a Masonic home in Sydney.
