Cameron Leslie
Cameron Leslie (born 17 January 1990) is a New Zealand paralympics Swimming (sport), swimmer and wheelchair rugby player. Early life and education Leslie was born with a quadruple limb deficiency. He attended Pompallier Catholic College, Pompallier Catholic Collage. He was also a student at Auckland University of Technology (abbr. AUT; Māori: ''Te Wānanga Aronui o Tāmaki Makau Rau''). Leslie holds a Bachelor of Communication studies, Communication Studies from AUT. Of Māori people, Māori descent, Leslie affiliates to the Ngāpuhi iwi. Leslie got into swimming at an early age, because there were few sporting options for people with disabilities. As a twelve-year-old, his coach placed negative values on him. Whangārei
Whangārei () is the northernmost city in New Zealand and the largest settlement of the Northland Region. It is part of the Whangarei District, created in 1989 from the former Whangarei City, Whangarei County and Hikurangi Town councils to administer both the city and its hinterland. 2023 World Para Swimming Championships
The 2023 World Para Swimming Championships was the 12th edition of the World Para Swimming Championships, an international swimming competition for swimmers with disabilities. It was held in Manchester, Great Britain from 31 July to 6 August 2023. This was the third time that Great Britain have hosted the World Para Swimming Championships with Glasgow hosting in 2015 IPC Swimming World Championships, 2015 and London hosting in 2019 World Para Swimming Championships, 2019. The World Championships serves as a Swimming at the 2024 Summer Paralympics – Qualification, qualifier for the 2024 Summer Paralympics where two top swimmers in each individual medal event final will be automatically selected to compete at the Paralympics. Wheelchair rugby (originally murderball, and known as quad rugby in the United States) is a team sport for Disabled sport, athletes with a disability. It is practiced in over twenty-five countries around the world and is a summer Paralympic sport. in wheelchair rugby, players cannot kick the ball, so they move the ball forward towards the goal by carrying the ball in their lap.
