An orchestra (; ) is a large instrumental ensemble typical of classical music, which combines instruments from different families. Forgotten Sunrise
Forgotten Sunrise is an Estonian industrial band founded in Tallinn, the capital of Estonia. Their sound has been described as "outdustrial" or "deathbeat" and compared to a mixture of Dead Can Dance, David Lynch, Katatonia, Celtic Frost and Clock DVA. History 1992–1994 Forgotten Sunrise was formed in summer 1992 as the result of common interest of Anders Melts and Jan Talts to make death metal in Estonia. Two friends with previous experiences, Margus Gustavson and Tarvo Valm, joined the yet unnamed band. After six months and having their first songs, in 1993 a demo “Behind The Abysmal Sky” was recorded. A few months later, a contract with a Finnish label, Rising Realm Records, was signed and by the end of the year the “Forever Sleeping Greystones” mini-CD had been recorded. The mini-album was released at the end of 1994. The band attracted a great deal of attention and played concerts until differences caused the drummer and the guitarist to leave the band. 1996& ... No-Big-Silence (often abbreviated as "NBS"), originally known as Aggressor, is an Industrial metal/rock band from Estonia. History Early years as Aggressor (1989–1995) The beginnings of Aggressor date back to 1989 when Villem Tarvas, Marek Piliste, Kristo Kotkas and Marko Atso started playing together as an unnamed band. At the start of 1990 they released their first demo album named ''Indestructible'' – the music on this recording was influenced by German thrash metal band Kreator. Their first big performance was on 17 April 1990, and a year later they put together a 4 track demo which resulted in the recording of their first album, ''Procreate the Petrifactions'' at the end of 1992. Later on they played several shows in Moscow and in 1994 they released their second album '' Of Long Duration Anguish''. Malcolm Lincoln
Malcolm Lincoln was an Estonian band that formed in October 2009. The members are Robin Juhkental, Jakob Juhkam, Siim Raidma, Ott Adamson, Johan Alexander Petti and Hans Kurvits. The original lineup consisted of Robin Juhkental (vocals/electronics) and Madis Kubu (bass). Juhkental has described their style as " electronic pop with a slightly quirky undertone". The band's name originates from the game show '' Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?'', where a woman incorrectly answered "Malcolm Lincoln" to a question involving the first name of Abraham Lincoln, the 16th President of the United States. Lõõtsavägilased (English: ''Accordion Heroes'') is an Estonian folk music ensemble founded in 2014. The members of Lõõtsavägilased mainly play folk and traditional music. They have performed at all major folk festivals across Estonia and collaborated with Untsakad, Zetode, Jaan Pehk, Hardi Volmer and Metsatöll. History The beginning of Lõõtsavägilased is sometimes considered December 2013 at the Karksi-Nuia Music School, when Margus Põldsepp created an ensemble containing his students, Andres Eelmaa, Rasmus Kadaja, and Tobias Tae, who went to study the melodeon as an additional instrument with Põldsepp. During the beginning of the ensemble, only instrumental stories were learned, but then more and more emphasis was placed on singing. Jaak Joala
Jaak Joala (26 June 1950 – 25 September 2014) was an Estonian singer, musician and a member of two bands: Kristallid and Virmalised. He began as a flautist, later adding singing and bass guitar. Biography Early life Jaak Joala was born in Viljandi, Estonia and grew up in Tallinn. His mother, Helgi Ridamäe, was a music teacher at various schools in Tallinn. His father was Arno Joala, who was a musician and who was later also known as a healer. When Jaak turned seven years old, he started to take piano lessons and in adolescence also began taking flute lessons. Career Joala is considered a music legend by some. He began his musical career with the beat group Kristallid (English: ''The Crystals'') in 1966 as a flautist, then as a singer and bassist. Olav Ehala
Olav Ehala (born 31 July 1950 in Tallinn) is an Estonian composer. In 1969, he graduated from Tallinn Music School and then studied composition under Eugen Kapp at the Tallinn State Conservatory, graduating in 1974. From 1975 to 1991 he was the music director for the Estonian State Youth Theater. Since 1991 he has been teaching at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre and is currently a Professor Emeritus of Music Pedagogy. Ehala has been a member of both the Estonian Theatre Union and the Estonian Composers' Union Estonian Composers' Union (abbreviation ECU; ) is an Estonian creative union which encompasses professional composers and musicologists in Estonia.
