Cambrian Transport
The Barry Tourist Railway (formerly the Barry Island Railway) was a railway developed to attract visitors to Barry in the Vale of Glamorgan, South Wales. It was a key element of the Barry Rail Centre which also includes engineering and training facilities. An unusual aspect of the railway was that for several hundred yards across the Causeway from Barry to Barry Island, the trackbed used was directly alongside the Network Rail track which uses the original up line, with the Barry Tourist Railway using the down line. This continues from Barry to cross the Causeway and Barry Island viaduct after which the two lines diverge into separate platforms at Barry Island. Barry Island Railway Station
Barry Island railway station is a railway station, south-west of Cardiff Central railway station, Cardiff Central, serving Barry Island (Vale of Glamorgan), Barry Island () in South Wales. The station has been the terminus – and only remaining active station at the end of the Barry branch of the Cardiff Central to Barry Island line since the closure of Barry Pier railway station, Barry Pier station in 1976, the last passenger working through Barry Island tunnel to the Pier station being an enthusiasts' special in 1973. Previous to that year, only a few revenue-earning workings to meet up with the former P&A Campbell's paddle-steamer trips to Weston-super-Mare or other Somerset/Devon havens, were made following May 1964. Barry Waterfront or Waterfront Barry, known locally as The Waterfront, is a retail park and neighbourhood of Barry, Vale of Glamorgan, Wales, built from redeveloped land from the old Barry Docks, to the southwest of the town centre and to the immediate west of Barry Dock Offices. It is accessed via the Gladstone Bridge from Broad Street, to the south of Barry Memorial Hall, and along the Ffordd-Y-Mileniwm road from the southeast, leading on from Cardiff Road approached via Palmerston. South Devon Railway (heritage Railway)
The South Devon Railway (SDR) is a heritage railway from Totnes to Buckfastleigh in Devon. Mostly running alongside the River Dart, it was initially known as the Dart Valley Railway. The railway is now operated by the South Devon Railway Trust, a charitable organisation, registered charity. The railway's headquarters and museum are located at Buckfastleigh railway station. However, with the economy in recession the scheme failed to find sufficient backing. Sentinel Waggon Works
Sentinel Waggon Works Ltd was a British company based in Shrewsbury, Shropshire that made steam-powered lorry, lorries (steam wagons), railway locomotives, and later, diesel engined lorries, buses and locomotives. History Alley & MacLellan, Sentinel Works, Jessie Street Glasgow Alley & MacLellan was founded in 1875 and was based in Polmadie, Glasgow. This company continued in operation until the 1950s. Initially manufacturing valves and compressors for steam engines, and later whole steamships, Alley & MacLellan acquired Simpson and Bibby of Horsehay, Shropshire, manufacturer of steam-powered road vehicles, in 1903. They began producing steam road vehicles in 1905 and in 1906 introduced a five-ton vertical-boiler steam wagon, which featured a two-cylinder undertype engine and chain drive. Barry Ten
The Barry 10 was a collection of unsold scrapyard steam locomotives that were removed from Woodham Brothers in 1990 when Dai Woodham retired. They were then taken on by the Vale of Glamorgan Council. For the next 20 years, the locomotives were stored in scrapyard condition, although several were bought. All the remaining locomotives were rusting hulks, stored, and not publicly viewable. Ownership The Barry Ten were under the management and ownership of Cambrian Transport, who publicly announced, on 4 May 2010, various plans for the different engines (see below). ''Stella'' is a Television in the United Kingdom, British comedy-drama filmed in the Rhondda Valleys, Rhondda valleys that aired on Sky One from 2012 to 2017. ''Being Human'' is a British Supernatural fiction, supernatural comedy-drama television series created and written by Toby Whithouse and first broadcast on BBC Three in 2009. The show blends elements of Roommate, flatshare comedy and horror drama. Flatline
A flatline is an electrical time sequence measurement that shows no activity and therefore, when represented, shows a flat line instead of a moving one. It almost always refers to either a flatlined electrocardiogram, where the heart shows no electrical activity ( asystole), or to a flat electroencephalogram, in which the brain shows no electrical activity (brain death). "The Doctor Dances" is the tenth episode of the first series of the revival of the British science fiction television programme ''Doctor Who'', which was first broadcast on BBC One on 28 May 2005. It is the second of a two-part story, following the broadcast of " The Empty Child" on 21 May. The episode is set in London in 1941. In the episode, the Ninth Doctor, his companion Rose Tyler, a con man Captain Jack Harkness, and a homeless woman Nancy investigate a spaceship which crashed the same time as patients at a nearby hospital began turning into living dead beings with gas masks for faces. "The Empty Child" is the ninth episode of the first series of the British science fiction television programme ''Doctor Who'', which was first broadcast on BBC One on 21 May 2005.
