2015 Brabantse Pijl
The 2015 Brabantse Pijl was the 55th edition of the Brabantse Pijl road cycling race. Held on 15 April 2015, it started in Leuven and ended later in Overijse. It was a 1.HC-ranked race that was part of the 2015 UCI Europe Tour. The main difficulty in the race was caused by 26 climbs, as well as twisting roads in the final part of the route. The race was won from the breakaway by Ben Hermans (). A group of fourteen riders finished two seconds behind, with Michael Matthews () second and the defending champion Philippe Gilbert () third. Team Jayco–AIS () was an Australian road cycling team. The team was sponsored by the Australian division of recreational vehicle company Jayco and the Australian Institute of Sport. Jayco Australia's founder Gerry Ryan now funds Team Jayco AlUla, a fellow Australian team that started in 2012, the same year Team Jayco–AIS folded. The team competed on the UCI Continental Tour mostly on the Oceania and Europe circuit. The team functioned as a launchpad for young Australian cyclists. Australian National Road Race Championships
The Australian National Road Race Championships, are held annually with an event for each category of bicycle rider: Men, Women & under 23 riders. The event also includes the Australian National Time Trial Championships since 2002. The Australian Championships were officially known as the Scody Australian Open Road Cycling Championships from 1999 to 2010, taking the name of their main sponsor. This changed to the Mars Cycling Australia Road National Championships from 2011 but they are more commonly referred to as ''The Nationals''. The under 23 championships were introduced in 2001. Note that these results do not currently include the senior and junior amateur road race championships that were held prior to the open era. The Herald Sun Tour is an Australian professional bicycle race held in Melbourne and provincial Victoria, sanctioned by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI). The first tour was held in October 1952 as a six-day event. It is now held annually over five days in February. It is named after the ''Herald Sun'', Melbourne's only daily tabloid newspaper. It was originally known as the Sun Tour after '' The Sun News-Pictorial'', and changed its name when ''The Sun News-Pictorial'' merged with '' The Herald'' in 1990. History In 1952 the first general classification winner was Keith Rowley, a Maffra sheep farmer, in a time of 42 h 57 min 55 s.
