Calvary Chapel
Calvary Chapel is an international association of charismatic evangelical churches, with origins in Pentecostalism. It maintains a number of radio stations around the world and operates many local Calvary Chapel Bible College programs. Beginning in 1965 in Southern California, this fellowship of churches grew out of Chuck Smith's Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa. History The association has its origins in the founding of a Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa (California) in 1965 by pastor Chuck Smith of the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel with 25 people. In 1968 they broke away from Foursquare Church. Prior to Smith, Costa Mesa members spoke of their own vision of becoming part of a massive church movement. Calvary Chapel Bible College
Calvary Chapel Bible College is an evangelical Christian Biblical studies college located at 4200 32nd St. W. in Bradenton, Florida. The campus relocated to Murrieta Hot Springs in Murrieta, California from 1994 to Summer 2022. In July 2022, C.C.B.C. returned to the original Twin Peaks site after nearly 30 years away until 2025. In July 2025, C.C.B.C. relocated to Bradenton, Florida. It was founded as a ministry of Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa and now operates as an independent institution which runs on a 15-week spring and fall semester schedule with summer classes. House Of Miracles (communal House)
The House of Miracles was a series of Christian communal houses established during the early Jesus Movement under the auspices of Pastor Chuck Smith and Calvary Chapel in Costa Mesa, California. The House of Miracles was the group from which sprang the largest (and one of the longest lasting) of the Jesus People communal groups, the Shiloh Youth Revival Centers, which had 100,000 members and 175 communal houses spread across the United States and Canada during its lifespan. Christian ministry is the vocational work of living and teaching about faith, in the hopes of increasing the population of God's people done by the church, church officials, congregational members, and Jesus followers.
