Calum Neff
Calum Neff (born 15 August 1984) is Canadian long-distance runner and coach who lives in Katy, Texas. He holds three Guinness World Records for pushing his daughters in 10K, Half Marathon and Marathon distance races. Neff was born in Aberdeen, Scotland to Canadian parents. He competes for Canada in the World Mountain Running Championships and in January 2021, Neff broke the Canadian 50K national record with a time of 2:51:27 in his second try at the record. Neff is also known for his work as a pacer. He paced Sara Hall in her American record quest at the Marathon Project and Keira D'Amato to her American record and Houston Marathon win in January 2022. Katy is a city in the U.S. state of Texas within the Greater Katy area, itself forming the western part of the Greater Houston metropolitan area. World Mountain Running Championships
The World Mountain Running Championships (''World Mountain Running Trophy'' until 2008), is an international mountain running competition contested by athletes of the members of WMRA, World Mountain Running Association, the sport's global governing body. The championships include a senior men, senior women, junior men and women events and the team events of these races. A pacemaker or pacesetter, sometimes informally called a rabbit, is a runner who leads a middle- or long-distance running event for the first section to ensure a fast time and avoid excessive tactical racing. Sara Hall (née Bei; born April 15, 1983) is a professional American distance runner. She won the 3000 meter steeplechase at the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico representing the United States. Hall’s personal best time for the marathon is 2:20:32 set at the Marathon Project in Chandler, Arizona on December 22, 2020, making her the third-fastest American woman in history. She is the second-fastest American woman to ever run the half marathon, running 1:07:15 on January 16, 2022–an American record at the time. Hall has won several notable mile road races including the Drake Relays Grand Blue Mile and the US National Road Mile Championships. Marathon Project
The Marathon Project was an elite-only marathon held on the Gila River Indian Reservation in Chandler, Arizona. December 2020. It was created by Northern Arizona Elite coach Ben Rosario together with Josh Cox and Matt Helbig to provide a race after many of the World Marathon Majors were cancelled due to COVID-19. Medical student Martin Hehir finished first in a time of 2:08:59 and Sara Hall won the women's race and became the second fastest American marathoner in a race paced by Calum Neff. Keira D'Amato
Keira D'Amato (born Keira Carlstrom on October 21, 1984) is an American distance runner. She held the American women's record in the marathon with her time of 2:19:12 at the 2022 Houston Marathon, until Emily Sisson set a new record time on October 9, 2022. She is the world best holder for the women's-only 10 mile distance and a three-time USA Track & Field national champion. Biography D'Amato ran for American University from 2002 to 2006, where she was a four-time All-American and 11-time Patriot League champion, competing in cross-country, indoor track, and outdoor track. She was also named an Academic All-American in 2006. After a series of injuries in her post-collegiate career, D'Amato took a hiatus from the sport in 2009.
