Calum Bowie (born 28 December 2000) is a Scottish singer-songwriter from Banchory, Aberdeenshire, now based in Edinburgh. He began playing guitar at the age of eight. Bowie's music is influenced by artists such as Sam Fender, Ed Sheeran, and Nina Nesbitt. In 2023, he performed at several UK festivals, including The Great Escape, TRNSMT, Kendal Calling, and Y Not1. His 2024 performances include appearances at Glastonbury, Boardmasters, and Belladrum festivals, as well as tours with Dylan Gossett, Myles Smith and Arthur Hill. He has also supported established artists such as James Arthur and Cian Ducrot. He will also be opening the main stage at TRNSMT 2025. Banchory
Banchory (, , ) is a burgh or town in Aberdeenshire, historically in Kincardineshire, Scotland. It is about west of Aberdeen, near where the Feugh River meets the River Dee. Prehistory and archaeology In 2009, a farmer discovered a short cist burial to the east of the town. Archaeologists were called into excavate it and they found that it was a burial from the Beaker culture. Radiocarbon dating put the burial at sometime between 2330 and 2040 BC. Stable isotope analysis of the human remains indicated that he or she grew up on basalt geology, like that of the region, or on chalk, meaning they were either local or could have come from another place, like Yorkshire. Residue analysis of the Beaker pot found in the burial established that it had held either butter or milk. The Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival is an annual music and arts festival, held on the Belladrum Estate in Kiltarlity, Scotland. The festival was founded in 2004.
