Calle Själin
Calle Själin (born 2 September 1999) is a Swedish professional ice hockey defenceman for Rögle BK of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL). Själin was selected in the fifth round, 145th overall, of the 2017 NHL Entry Draft by the New York Rangers. Playing career With his draft rights expired from the Rangers, Själin remained with Leksands IF in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL). In the 2021–22 season, Själin notched career highs with six goals and 16 assists for 22 points in 46 regular season games with Leksands IF. On 10 June 2022, Själin was signed to a two-year, entry-level contract with the Florida Panthers. During the season, on 8 March 2024, Själin was traded to the Buffalo Sabres along with a conditional 2024 seventh-round pick in exchange for forward Kyle Okposo. Östersund
Östersund (; ) is an Urban areas in Sweden, urban area (Stad (Sweden), city) in Jämtland in northern Sweden. It is the seat of Östersund Municipality and the capital of Jämtland County. Östersund is located at the shores of Sweden's fifth-largest lake, Storsjön, opposite the island Frösön. It is the only city in Jämtland. The series consists of 14 teams playing a regular season in which each team plays each other team four times, twice at home and twice away. HockeyAllsvenskan (previously Allsvenskan and SuperAllsvenskan) is a professional ice hockey sports league, league, and the second-highest league in the Swedish ice hockey system, after the Swedish Hockey League, SHL. J20 SuperElit
J20 Nationell is a junior ice hockey league composed of 20 teams in Sweden. Previously known as the J20 SuperElit, it is the highest-level junior ice hockey league in Sweden. The teams are divided in two groups, or divisions, ''Norra'' (North) and ''Södra'' (South), and are usually associated with a professional team in either the Swedish Hockey League (SHL) or HockeyAllsvenskan in order to develop talented youth for the professional teams. The winning team of the J20 Nationell playoffs is awarded the Anton Cup. Game format Each J20 Nationell game is an ice hockey game played between two teams and is 60 minutes long. Timrå IK
Timrå IK is a professional Swedish ice hockey team based in Timrå, north of Sundsvall. It competes in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL), which is the top-tier league in Sweden, since being promoted by winning 2021 SHL qualifiers. Previous seasons in the top Swedish division include 1956–57 to 1975–76, 1977–78, 1981–82, 2000–01 to 2012–13 and 2018–19. Hockeyettan is the third tier of ice hockey in Sweden. As of the 2015–16 season, the league consists of 39 teams divided geographically into four groups. Hockeyettan operates a system of promotion and relegation with HockeyAllsvenskan and Division 2. From 1944 to 1975, Division I was the highest league in the Swedish ice hockey system, but with the creation of Elitserien (now the SHL) in 1975, it became the second tier. Division I was further relegated to third-tier status in 1999 as HockeyAllsvenskan was spun off into a standalone league, but was frequently written as "Division 1" on the Internet, as it was pronounced "Division One". Östersunds IK
Östersunds IK is a Sweden, Swedish professional ice hockey club from Östersund. The club was founded in 1965 and has played 21 seasons in Sweden's second-tier hockey league. In 2003, the club transferred its A-team to Jämtland Hockey and played three years under that name while Östersunds IK was left with only its youth hockey programs. Then in 2006, Östersunds IK merged with Brunflo IK and took over Jämtland Hockey's position in Division 1. On 29 April 2022, the club was promoted to the HockeyAllsvenskan, the current second tier of Swedish ice hockey, for the first time, after winning the Hockeyettan playoffs. The 2016–17 Hockeyettan season is the third season that the third tier of ice hockey in Sweden has been organized under that name. The regular season began on 16 September 2016 and ended on 19 February 2017, to be followed by promotion and relegation playoffs. The league was left with 47 teams after Kovlands IshF withdrew to a lower division due to financial reasons. Penalty (ice Hockey)
A penalty in ice hockey is a punishment for an infringement of the rules. Most penalties are enforced by sending the offending player to a penalty box for a set number of minutes. During the penalty the player may not participate in play. Penalties are called and enforced by the Official (ice hockey)#Referees, referee, or in some cases, the Official (ice hockey)#Linesmen, linesman. The offending team may not replace the player on the ice (although there are some exceptions, such as fighting), leaving them short handed, short-handed as opposed to full strength. When the opposing team is said to be on a ''Power play (ice hockey), power play'', they will have one more player on the ice than the short-handed team.
