"Call Me" is a song recorded and produced by the American-based group Deee-Lite. It was released by Elektra Records as the fourth single of the group's third studio album, ''Dewdrops in the Garden'' (1994), and their sixth and final single to reach the number one position on the US ''Billboard'' dance chart, during the week ending February 4, 1995. Critical reception Larry Flick from ''Billboard'' described it as "a hardcore club offering that places more emphasis on the act's talent for hearty beats than its quirky persona." He added, "Lady Kier's vamps are always a pleasure, but DJs are more likely to dig the double-pack of mixes that dabble in a wide variety of trendy vibes, ranging from pop/house to trance and tribal. Deserves immediate attention." Richard Smith from ''Melody Maker'' complimented the song as "quite good". Deee-Lite was an American house and dance music group formed in New York City. The group's best-known single is " Groove Is in the Heart", which was released in 1990 from their debut studio album ''World Clique'' (1990), and was a top-ten hit in multiple countries. ''Melody Maker'' was a British weekly music magazine, one of the world's earliest music weeklies; according to its publisher, IPC Media, the earliest. Hani (born Hani Adnan Al-Bader) is a Kuwaiti / American record producer and remixer based in New York, notable for his restructurings of hits by artists ranging from Michael Jackson to Alicia Keys, as well as his original productions. His 1999 release, "Baby Wants to Ride", reached number 1 on the US '' Billboard'' Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart. Ralphi Rosario
Ralphi Rosario is an American house musician and founding member of the influential Chicago DJ group Hot Mix 5. Biography When Hot Mix 5 was formed in 1981 on radio station WBMX (now WVAZ), Rosario, the youngest member of the group, was still in high school. The Hot Mix 5 went on to become one of the leading forces in the early Chicago house music scene. Like other members of the group, Rosario eventually branched out into music production and remixing. His first release, made in collaboration with Vince Lawrence, was "Sample That!" in 1986 under the name Bang Orchestra. Kierin Magenta Kirby (aka Lady Miss Kier) is an American singer, songwriter, DJ, designer, fashion icon, and activist. During her career, Lady Miss Kier has been the vocalist for the band Deee-Lite, a disc jockey, and solo songwriter. ''Dewdrops in the Garden'' is the third and final studio album by American dance music band Deee-Lite, released in August 1994 via Elektra Records. The album saw the group move away from the overtly political lyrical content of Infinity Within, the previous album, shifting into themes of dance and intimacy with a heavier lean into psychedelic music. Larry Flick is an American journalist, former dance music columnist, single reviewer, and Senior Talent Editor for ''Billboard'' magazine, where he worked for 14 years.
