California Franchise Tax Board
The California Franchise Tax Board (FTB) administers and collects state personal income tax and corporate franchise and income tax of California. It is part of the California Government Operations Agency. The board is composed of the California State Controller, the director of the California Department of Finance, and the chair of the California State Board of Equalization. The chief administrative official is the executive officer of the Franchise Tax Board. Alan Cranston
Alan MacGregor Cranston (June 19, 1914 – December 31, 2000) was an American politician and journalist who served as a United States Senate, United States Senator from California from 1969 to 1993, and as President of the Citizens for Global Solutions, World Federalist Association from 1949 to 1952. Born in Palo Alto, California, Cranston worked as a journalist after graduating from Stanford University. After serving as California State Controller, he was elected to the Senate in 1968. Russell S. Gould is an American financier, currently a partner at California Strategies, LLC. He was a member of California Governor Pete Wilson's administration, as Secretary of Health and Human Services (1991 to 1993) and as the Director of Finance (1993 to 1996). Joseph Graham "Gray" Davis Jr. (born December 26, 1942) is an American attorney and former politician who served as the 37th governor of California from 1999 until he was recalled and removed from office in 2003. He is the second state governor in U.S. history to have been recalled, after Lynn Frazier of North Dakota. Richard T. Silberman is an American businessman and political figure. He was a major investor in the Jack in the Box fast food chain and helped fund its expansion.
