California Community College Athletic Association
The California Community College Athletic Association (3C2A; formerly CCCAA) is a sports association of community colleges in the U.S. state of California. It oversees 108 athletic programs throughout the state. The organization was formed in 1929 as the California Junior College Federation to unify programs in Northern and Southern California. Over 26,000 student athletes participate annually in intercollegiate athletics at California’s community colleges and more than 100 regional and state final events produce champions in 24 men’s and women’s sports each year. The majority of student athletes participating at a California community college transfer to a four-year college or university to continue their academic and athletic endeavors. There are nine all-sport conferences, two football-only conferences, and three wrestling-only alliances. Volleyball
Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. It has been a part of the official program of the Summer Olympic Games since Tokyo 1964. Beach volleyball was introduced to the program at the Atlanta 1996 Summer Olympics. The adapted version of volleyball at the Summer Paralympic Games is sitting volleyball. Basic play The complete set of rules is extensive, but play essentially proceeds as follows: a player on one of the teams begins a 'rally' by serving the ball (tossing or releasing it and then hitting it with a hand or arm), from behind the back boundary line of the court, over the net, and into the receiving team's court. Solano College
Solano Community College (SCC) is a public community college in Fairfield, California, with additional centers in Vacaville and Vallejo. The college is part of California Community Colleges System. SCC's service area includes all of Solano County, and the town of Winters in Yolo County. It has 10,814 students. In 2016, Solano College was approved by the ACCJC to offer its first baccalaureate degree in biomanufacturing. The first cohort of students began the Bachelor of Science degree program in fall 2017. Napa Valley College, formerly Napa Junior College and Napa Community College, is a public community college in Napa, California. Mendocino College
Mendocino College is a public community college in Ukiah, California. Mendocino College was founded in 1973. The main campus is located on of hilltop land north of downtown Ukiah in the Ukiah valley. Currently there are about 4,000 students, 55 full-time faculty, and 200 adjunct faculty members. Los Medanos College (LMC) is a public community college in Pittsburg, California, United States. It was established in 1974 and is part of the Contra Costa Community College District. LMC also has had an extension in Brentwood since 1998 called the "Brentwood Center". College Of Alameda
College of Alameda is a public community college in Alameda, California. It is part of the Peralta Community College District and was opened in 1968. Since 1970 the college has held classes on a 62-acre campus at the intersection of Webster Street and Ralph Appezzato Memorial Parkway in Alameda.
