André Michaux
André Michaux (' → ahn- mee-; sometimes Anglicisation, anglicised as Andrew Michaud; 8 March 174611 October 1802) was a French botanist and explorer. He is most noted for his study of North American flora. In addition Michaux collected specimens in England, Spain, France, and even Persia. In botanical nomenclature, autonyms are automatically created names, as regulated by the ''International Code of Nomenclature for algae, fungi, and plants'' that are created for certain subdivisions of genera and species, those that include the type of the genus or species.
