Carlos Nuno Tavares Calado (born October 5, 1975 in Alcanena, Médio Tejo) is an athlete from Portugal, Sporting CP and S.L. Benfica, who specialises in the long jump. He was at his peak in 2001 when he won bronze medals at both the World Indoor and Outdoor Championships and set the indoor national record of 8.22 metres. His outdoor personal best of 8.36 metres, set in 1997, is also the national record. His last major competition was in triple jump at the European Indoor Championships in early 2005, where he was knocked out in the qualifying round. Francisco Calado
Francisco Antero Perdigão Calado Ribeiro (22 February 1927 – 5 February 2005), known as Francisco Calado, is a former Portuguese footballer who played as a half-back. Calado represented Benfica for ten seasons, winning four major titles. After football, he played for their rugby section until 1969. Career Calado started his career in Clube Desportivo Lisboa e Águias, a small club in Lisbon. In 1948, the 21-year old fulfilled a life dream of playing for Benfica when Ted Smith selected him to start against Olhanense on 29 December. With serious competition from Francisco Ferreira, Félix Antunes, Francisco Moreira and others, his playing time was so restricted that he did not play competitively at all in 1949–50, 1951–52 and 1952–53. James John Calado (born 13 June 1989) is a British professional racing driver from England, currently competing in the FIA World Endurance Championship and other selected GT races for AF Corse. He won the LMGTE Pro class of the 2017 FIA World Endurance Championship and 2019 24 Hours of Le Mans. He drove for Panasonic Jaguar Racing in Formula E. His career has been funded by the Racing Steps Foundation. Career Karting Born in Cropthorne, Worcestershire, Calado had an extensive karting career, starting out at Cadets level in 1999. Jorge Oliveira Calado (born 7 June 1942) is a Mozambican-Portuguese retired footballer who played as a midfielder. Career Born in Portuguese Mozambique, Jorge Calado is a youth product from S.L. Benfica. He made his professional debut on 26 November 1961, in a win over Caldas. Over the course of seven seasons, acting mainly as back-up to Mário Coluna or Domiciano Cavém, he played 27 league matches, with a loan deal in 1968–69 to Leixões S.C. José Calado
José António Calado da Silva (born 1 March 1974), known as Calado, is a Portuguese former footballer who played as a central midfielder. After coming to prominence in his home country with Benfica, he spent the rest of his 19-year professional career with two teams in Spain and two in Cyprus. He amassed Primeira Liga totals of 184 games and seven goals over eight seasons. Club career Calado was born in Lisbon. He started his career with local Casa Pia AC, representing C.F. Estrela da Amadora and S.L. Benfica afterwards and reaching international status with the latter club.
