Caio Túlio Costa
Caio Túlio Costa (born 1954 in Alfenas) is a Brazilian journalist, professor of journalism, PhD in communication at the University of São Paulo and visiting research fellow at Columbia University (2013). Expert in digital media, he is also the founder of Torabit, a digital monitoring platform that started operating commercially in 2017. Costa worked for 21 years at the newspaper Folha de S.Paulo where he was editor, managing editor, correspondent in Europe (based in Paris), magazine director and pioneer in the company's investments in internet. He was also the first ombudsman of the Brazilian press, a position he held in this same newspaper. Then, Caio Túlio created Folha de São Paulo's weekly magazine Revista da Folha and, in 1995, was one of the founders of the internet service provider Universo Online (Portuguese, 'Universe Online') (known by the acronym UOL) is a Brazilian web content, products and services company. Alfenas
Alfenas is a municipality in the southern part of the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais. In 2020 its population was 80,494 and the area of the municipality is 849 km2. The elevation is 888m. It is served by highways MG 179, BR 491 and BR 369. The distance to the state capital of Belo Horizonte is 335 km and the distance to São Paulo is 300 km. The slogan for the city is "Alfenas, the gateway to the sea of Minas", in reference to nearby Lake Furnas. Name The toponym ''Alfenas'' refers to a colonial family that settled in the area. Members of the family of Martins Alfena were among the first to settle in the area that would become Alfenas. An ombudsman ( , also ) is a government employee who investigates and tries to resolve complaints, usually through recommendations (binding or not) or mediation. They are usually appointed by the government or by parliament (often with a significant degree of independence).
