Cai Yingting
Cai Yingting (; born April 1954) is a former general of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA). He served as commander of the Nanjing Military Region and president of the PLA Academy of Military Science, but was demoted in 2017. Career Cai Yingting was born in April 1954 in Jinjiang, Fujian, Jinjiang, Fujian Province. He joined the PLA in 1970. Cai served for many years in Fujian province, and was known to have deep knowledge of the military situation in Taiwan. In 1996, when then Central Military Commission (China), Central Military Commission vice chairman Zhang Wannian was dispatched to the Nanjing Military Region to oversee military maneuvers in the Taiwan Strait, Cai became his secretary. Jiang (Wade-Giles, formerly romanized chiang and usually translated general (rank), general) is a general officer rank used by China and Taiwan. It is also used as jang in North Korea, North and South Korea, shō in Japan, and tướng in Vietnam. Zheng He (; born November 1958) is a general ('' shangjiang'') of the People's Liberation Army who served as president of PLA National Defense University from 2017 to 2021. He is a member of the 19th Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party and was a delegate to the 12th National People's Congress. Academy Of Military Sciences (China)
The Academy of Military Sciences () is the highest-level research institute of the People's Liberation Army (PLA). It is headquartered in Beijing. The academy was founded in March 1958 and as of 2002, its staff included approximately 500 researchers, making it the largest research institution in the PLA. Wang Ning (; born August 1955) is a retired general of the People's Liberation Army of China, formerly served as commander of the People's Armed Police. Previously, he served as the deputy chief of the Joint Staff. Wang is a member of the 19th Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party.
