WKDF
WKDF (103.3 FM, "103.3 Country") is a country music radio station from Nashville, Tennessee. WKDF is owned by Cumulus Media. The transmitter site is in Brentwood, Tennessee, and its studios are located in Nashville's Music Row district. WKDF formerly broadcast one channel in the HD format: a simulcast of the analog (traditional) signal. History WKDF was first licensed, as WNFO-FM, in 1962 to the Hickory Broadcasting Corporation. It was the second commercial Nashville station to be assigned to 103.3 MHz, preceded by the original WSM-FM, which occupied this frequency from 1947 until its deletion in 1951. Despite several FM stations already operating in Nashville at the time, receivers were not yet in widespread use, and the relatively few listeners were not enough to attract advertisers. WTGE (100.7 FM, "100.7 The Tiger") is a commercial radio station in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The station airs a country music radio format and is owned by Guaranty Broadcasting Company of Baton Rouge, LLC. Along with four sister stations, its studios and offices are at the Guaranty Group building on Government Street east of downtown Baton Rouge. WTGE's transmitter is located near the Mississippi River in Baton Rouge, south of Louisiana State University. The station broadcasts in the HD radio digital format. KAWO (104.3 FM, "Wow Country 104.3") is a commercial radio station located in Boise, Idaho. KAWO airs a country music format branded as "Wow Country 104.3". Until 2007, the station was called "My Country 104.3" and its call letters were KTMY. History The station started operating on July 15, 1979 with the first Album-oriented rock station in the Boise market as ''Q-104'' (KIDQ). In 1985, the station was switched to an adult contemporary format with the KUUB as the call letters branding as ''K-Lite 104 FM''. However, the call letters were short-lived and changed the call letters to KLTB to match the branding. The shift almost left Boise without an AOR station until KJOT (''J-105'') debuted less than a month later. KUPL (98.7 FM) is a commercial radio station in Portland, Oregon. The station is owned by Alpha Media and airs a country music radio format, known as "98.7 The Bull." KUPL's studios and offices are located in Downtown Portland on SW 5th Avenue. The transmitter is in Portland's West Hills, on SW Barnes Road. History KPOJ-FM/KPOK-FM On June 6, 1948, the station signed on as KPOJ-FM at 98.7 MHz. It was owned and operated by ''The Oregon Journal''. It was powered at 44,000 watts and mostly simulcast co-owned AM 1330 KPOJ, a network affiliate of the Mutual Broadcasting System and the Don Lee Network. KPLM
KPLM (106.1 MHz) is one of four Class B FM radio stations serving the Palm Springs, California, area and one of only two 50 kW stations. The others are country formatted 42 kW KDES Palm Springs at 98.5 MHz; contemporary album-oriented rock-formatted 26.5 kW KCLB Coachella at 93.7 MHz and beautiful music 50 kW KWXY-FM Cathedral City at 92.3 MHz. The station, then called KPAL, was founded in 1974 by Los Angeles radio personality Magnificent Montague, whose trademark shout, "Burn!" was expanded to "Burn, baby, burn" during the 1965 Watts riots. The construction permit for the station was the first issued to an African-American in four decades. Call sign "KPLM" became available in 1979 when a local television station was purchased by ''Esquire'' magazine.
