Caden Davis (placekicker)
Caden Matthew Davis (born February 27, 2001) is an American professional football placekicker for the New York Jets of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Ole Miss Rebels and Texas A&M Aggies. Early life Davis is from Coppell, Texas. He attended Coppell High School where he played football as a placekicker and participated in track and field, competing in several relay events. As a junior, he was named his district's special teams MVP and an honorable mention all-state selection by the Associated Press (AP). He opened his senior season with a game-winning 57-yard field goal and later in the season made another game-winning field goal of over 50 yards. He ended his senior year having been successful on 11 of 15 field goal attempts, while in his high school career he finished 41 for 56 on field goals and 146 for 150 on extra point attempts. Placekicker
In gridiron football, the placekicker (PK), or simply kicker (K), is the player responsible for attempts at scoring Field goal (football), field goals and extra points. In most cases, the placekicker also serves as the team's kickoff specialist. The term derives from the attempted scorer kicking the ball "from placement" of a teammate holding the ball rather than by individually drop-kicking the ball through the goal posts. ''Dave Campbell's Texas Football'' is a biannual magazine previewing American football teams in the state of Texas. The NCAA transfer portal is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) application, database, and compliance tool created to manage and facilitate the process for student athletes seeking to transfer between member institutions. It is intended to bring greater transparency to the transfer process and to enable student athletes to publicize their desire to transfer. Seth Small (born October 29, 1999) is an American professional football placekicker. He previously played for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League (CFL). College career Small played college football for the Texas A&M Aggies from 2018 to 2021. He played in 46 games where he was successful on 71 of 91 field goal attempts for a 78.0% completion rate and made a career long 52-yard field goal in his freshman year. Professional career Following his collegiate career, Small was not selected in the 2021 NFL draft. Kickoff Specialist
A kickoff specialist is a special teams position in gridiron football. They are responsible for kicking the ball in the kickoff. These players tend to have a strong leg, often capable of making touchbacks, and capable of keeping a ball in the bounds of the field of play but do not have the accuracy or technique required to be a full-time placekicker or punter. For most teams, the placekicker is the kickoff specialist. Dedicated kickoff specialists that handle only kickoff duties are now seldomly-used. Some kickoff specialists later become full-time placekickers, while some are marginal placekickers who are soon out of football. Redshirt, in United States college athletics, is a delay or suspension of an athlete's participation in order to lengthen their period of eligibility. Typically, a student's athletic eligibility in a given sport is four seasons, aligning with the four years of academic classes typically required to earn a bachelor's degree at an American college or university. However, in a redshirt year, student athletes may attend classes at the college or university, practice with an athletic team, and "suit up" (wear a team uniform) for play – but they may compete in only a limited number of games (see " Use of status" section). Texas A&M Aggies
The Texas A&M Aggies are the students, graduates, and sports teams of Texas A&M University. The nickname "wikt:aggie#Etymology 2, Aggie" was once common at land-grant or "ag" (agriculture) schools in many states.
