Cabinet Secretary (Bangladesh)
The highest ranking civil servant is the Chief of the Cabinet Secretariat of the People's Republic of Bangladesh who is also the Cabinet Secretary. He is ex-officio Chairman of the Superior Selection Board and head of all civil services under the Rules of Business of the Government of Bangladesh. He also holds the 12th position in the Warrant of Precedence of Bangladesh. Cabinet Secretary is appointed from Bangladesh Civil Service (Administration) Cadre, known as Bangladesh Administrative Service. The current Cabinet Secretary of the Republic is Sheikh Abdur Rashid. Flag Of Bangladesh
The national flag of Bangladesh, nicknamed ''Lal–Sobuj'' (), was adopted officially on 17 January 1972. It consists of a red circle on top of a dark green banner. The red circle is offset slightly toward the hoist so that it appears centred when the flag is flying. The civil ensign and naval ensign place it in the canton of a red or white field, respectively. The flag is based on a similar flag used during the Bangladesh Liberation War of 1971, which had a yellow map of the country inside the red disc. In 1972, this map was removed from the flag. One reason given was the difficulty for rendering the map correctly on both sides of the flag. While there are numerous interpretations, the most widely accepted interpretation says that the green of the flag symbolises the lush landscape of Bangladesh, and the red circle, reminiscent of the rising sun, represents the sacrifice made by the people during the Liberation War of 1971. SM Shafiul Azam (1923 – 4 December 1991) was a Bangladeshi civil servant. Biography Shafiul Azam graduated with a degree in Law and English from the University of Dhaka. From 1948 to 1949, Shafiul Azam taught English literature at Dhaka College. He successfully stood first for the Central Superior Services of Pakistan examination. In 1969, Shafiul Azam became the first Bengali chief secretary of East Pakistan. After the Independence of Bangladesh, he found himself out of favor with the new government. Md Abdul Aziz is a former Cabinet Secretary of Bangladesh. Career Aziz was the Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Establishment and officer on special duty in 2003 when he was promoted in August. Ali Imam Majumder is an advisor to the Interim government of Bangladesh. He is a former Bangladeshi government official who served as the cabinet secretary. He is the secretary general of Transparency International Bangladesh and an executive committee member of Citizens for Good Governance (SHUJAN). Akbar Ali Khan (1944 – 8 September 2022) was a Bangladeshi economist and educationist who served as a bureaucrat until 2001. He was a sub-divisional officer of Habiganj during the Bangladesh Liberation War when he decided to join the war. Later he served as an official of the Mujibnagar Government.
