CV Postcode Area
The CV postcode area, also known as the Coventry postcode area, is a group of 24 postcode districts in central England, within eleven post towns. These cover the eastern part of the West Midlands county (including Coventry), most of Warwickshire (including Atherstone, Bedworth, Kenilworth, Leamington Spa, Nuneaton, Rugby, Shipston-on-Stour, Southam, Stratford-upon-Avon and Warwick), a part of west Leicestershire and a very small part of Northamptonshire. The postcode areas CV1 to CV6 incorporate the city of Coventry and its contiguous suburbs, with CV7 covering several rural and suburban villages to the immediate west and north of the city (where Coventry remains the post town), i.e., the eastern portion of Solihull Borough and the southernmost areas of the Nuneaton & Bedworth District. West Midlands (county)
West Midlands is a Metropolitan county, metropolitan and Ceremonial counties of England, ceremonial county in the larger West Midlands (region), West Midlands region of England. A landlocked county, it is bordered by Staffordshire to the north and west, Worcestershire to the south, and is almost surrounded by Warwickshire to the east. Wyken
Wyken, a suburb of Coventry, in the county of the West Midlands, England, is situated between the areas of Stoke and Walsgrave, three miles east-northeast of Coventry city centre. The population of this Coventry Ward taken at the 2011 census was 16,818. It is a fairly large ward spreading as far as the Binley area. The majority of the houses in Wyken are terraced houses. The original parish ran close to the River Sowe and was mainly flat except for Wyken Heath and Wyken Knob near Stoke Heath. History The oldest building within Wyken is Saint Mary Magdalene's Church, located within Wyken Croft, which dates to the early 11th century. The village developed opposite the church and remained a small settlement until the 18th century at which point it began to expand. Ernesford Grange
Ernesford Grange is a suburb of Coventry, West Midlands. It is in the southeast of the city and borders the Binley, Stoke Aldermoor and Willenhall areas. It is part of the Coventry South Constituency. The district was built in the 1960s and the 1970s with a three phase housing estate. Stoke Aldermoor
Stoke Aldermoor is a suburban community in south-eastern Coventry, West Midlands, England. An area of Stoke Aldermoor consisting of a small estate alongside the north-east of Pinley Fields is called Pinley. It is bordered by the River Sowe and the Coventry Canal, and the suburbs of Stoke to the north, Whitley to the south-west and Ernesford Grange to the east. Industry During the Second World War, the Rootes No 1 Shadow Factory was located in Stoke Aldermoor. Four-wheel-drive scout cars, tank engines, truck engines and aero engines were produced at the factory. Rootes also maintained a training school in the area. Finham is a civil parish and suburb of Coventry and is known to have an intricate cultural and linguistic history . Stivichall or Styvechale ( ) is a suburb of the city of Coventry, in the county of the West Midlands, England. It is a mainly residential area in the south of the city. Cheylesmore
Cheylesmore is a suburb in the southern half of the city of Coventry, West Midlands (county), West Midlands, England. It is one of Coventry's largest suburbs, sharing borders with Whitley, Coventry, Whitley and Stivichall (also spelt Styvechale) in the South, extending into Coventry city centre and bordering with Earlsdon, Coventry, Earlsdon in the North. Willenhall is a suburb of Coventry, in the county of the West Midlands, England. Willenhall is in the south-east of the city adjacent to the suburbs of Binley, Ernesford Grange and Whitley. Whitley, Coventry
Whitley is a suburb of southern Coventry in the West Midlands (county), West Midlands of England and a major centre of the English automotive corporation Jaguar Land Rover, including the headquarters of the company. Binley, Coventry
Binley is a suburb in the east of Coventry, West Midlands, England. Binley evolved from a small mining village on the outskirts of Coventry to a large residential area composing private residences and council-owned properties. It is famous for the Binley Mega Chippy, which is located within Binley. Binley is part of the ward of Binley and Willenhall, which had a population of 17,774 at the 2021 census.
