Clubul Sportiv Minerul Mehedinți, commonly known as Minerul Mehedinți or Minerul Valea Copcii, was a Romanian football club based in Valea Copcii, Mehedinți County, founded in 1994 and dissolved in 2015. At its best, Minerul was ranked 3rd in the Liga III. History Minerul Mehedinți achieved promotion to Divizia C at the end of the 2002–03 season after winning the Divizia D – Mehedinți County Championship, with Dorian Gugu as player-coach. In the following seven consecutive seasons spent in the third tier of Romanian football, the club based in Valea Copcii consistently ranked among the top six teams: 5th in 2003–04 with Florin Cioroianu as head coach, 6th in 2004–05 under Marian Brihac and, from November 2004, Florin Cioroianu, 4th in 2005–06, 3rd in 2006–07, 5th in 2007–08, 3rd in 2008–09, both seasons coached by Cornel Mihart, and 6th in 2009–10 with Flavius Stoican as head coach. 2007–08 Liga III
The 2007–08 Liga III season was the 52nd season of Liga III, the third tier of the Romanian football league system. It was the second in this format (six series of 18 teams each). The winners of each division got promoted to the 2008-09 Liga II season. There were also two playoff tournaments held at neutral venues involving the second placed teams, one with those from series 1, 2 and 3, the other with those from series 4, 5, and 6. The winners of the playoffs also got promoted to the 2008-09 Liga II season. The bottom three from each division were relegated at the end of the season to the county football leagues (Liga IV). From the 15th placed teams, another three were relegated. To determine these teams, separate standings were computed, using only the games played against clubs ranked 1st through 14th. Slatina, Romania
Slatina (, ) is the capital city of Olt County, Romania, on the river Olt. It is located in the south of Romania, on the eastern side of the river Olt, in the historical region of Muntenia. Clubul Sportiv Minerul Motru, commonly known as Minerul Motru is a Romanian amateur football club based in Motru, Gorj County, currently playing in the Liga IV – Gorj County, the fourth tier of the Romanian football league system. National Company of Lignite Oltenia () Târgu Jiu was set up as a commercial society by the Government of Romania in 1997. The main headquarters of the company is placed in Târgu Jiu, Gorj County. The company has its material base in Gorj, Vâlcea and Mehedinți with total reserves of 2 billion tonnes of coal. The annual production is around 35 million tonnes of lignite and 4 million tonnes of anthracite and the total number of employees is around 9,000. Flavius Stoican
Flavius Vladimir Stoican (born 24 November 1976) is a Romanian professional football manager and former player, currently in charge of Liga II club CSM Reșița. Club career Stoican started his career at FC Drobeta, but soon he left them for Universitatea Craviova, where he played for seven years. In the summer of 2002, Stoican moved to Romanian giants Dinamo București. While playing for Dinamo, Shakhtar Donetsk manager, Mircea Lucescu, spotted Stoican's abilities and brought him to the Ukrainian Premier League club in the summer of 2003.
