Channel Service Unit
In telecommunications, a channel service unit (CSU) is a telephone line, line Bridging (networking), bridging device for use with T-carrier, which *is used to perform loopback testing; *may perform bit stuffing; *may also provide a framing (telecommunication), framing and formatting pattern compatible with the telecommunications network, network; *provides a barrier for electrical interference from either side of the unit; and *is the last signal regeneration point, on the loop side, coming from the telephone exchange, central office, before the regenerated signal reaches a multiplexer or data terminal equipment (DTE). Common varieties CSUs can be categorized by the class of service they support (Digital Signal 1, DS1, Digital Signal 3, DS3, DDS, etc.) and by the capabilities within that class. Central State University
Central State University (CSU) is a public, historically black land-grant university in Wilberforce, Ohio. It is a member-school of the Thurgood Marshall College Fund. Established by the state legislature in 1887 as a two-year program for teacher and industrial training, it was originally located with Wilberforce University, a four-year institution devoted to classical academic education. It was originally known as the Combined Normal and Industrial Department. In 1941 the college gained a four-year curriculum, independent status in 1947, and was renamed as Central State College in 1951. With further development, it gained university status in 1965. Concordia Student Union
The Concordia Student Union (usually referred to as the CSU) is the organization representing undergraduate students at Concordia University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Its membership totals around 30 people and is elected by students, in recent elections only 4,671 (15.3%) of 30,444 electors voted in the election. History Origin The CSU was originally named the ''Concordia University Students' Association'' (CUSA). It was incorporated in 1982 as the Concordia University Students' Association Inc. The name was changed to Concordia Student Union Inc. in 1994 and the "Inc." was dropped from the name in 2002. Accreditation In 2001, CSU undertook an accreditation drive, to legally represent all undergraduate students at Concordia, and was successful in its endeavour, though heavily opposed by the accredited faculty undergraduate student associations for Engineering and Commerce. Columbus State University
Columbus State University is a public university in Columbus, Georgia. Founded as Columbus College in 1958, the university was established and is administered by the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia. History The university was first called Columbus College when it opened as a junior college in a hosiery mill in 1958. The college was staffed by fifteen faculty and staff and almost three hundred students attended courses in the first year. Columbus College relocated to the midtown area in 1963, building a campus defined by modern architecture on what was previously a dairy farm. The school was granted four-year status in 1965 with offerings of bachelor's and master's degrees. The first four-year class graduated in 1970. In 1996 the school was renamed Columbus State University as part of a program to restructure four-year institutions within the state's university system.
