Clubul Sportiv Municipal Sighetu Marmației, commonly known as CSM Sighetu Marmației, or simply as Sighetu Marmației (, is a Romanian football club based in Sighetu Marmației, Maramureș County, currently playing in the Liga III. History The club was founded in 1996 to continue the football tradition in Sighetu Marmației after the dissolution of CIL Sighetu Marmației, a team which played for many years in Liga II. On 13 May 2016 CSM Sighetu Marmației withdrew from Liga III and was dissolved. In the summer of 2019, after 3 years of inactivity, the football section of the sports club was refounded. On 28 April 2021, CSM Sighetu Marmației, led by Romulus Buia, won the 2020–21 Liga IV Maramureș mini-tournament, organised by AJF (County Football Association) Maramureș, beating Lăpușul Târgu Lăpuș in the final with 3–0, qualifying for the Liga IV promotion play-off. The 2010–11 Liga IV was the fourth level of the Romanian football league system. It was disputed in each of the 41 counties of Romania and in the municipality of Bucharest. Valentin Sinescu
Valentin Sinescu (born 16 July 1963) is a Romanian football manager and former footballer. As a footballer, Sinescu played for Astra Ploiești in the lower leagues, during the 1980s and 1990s. In parallel with his football career, Sinescu studied petrochemical engineering and then worked as an engineer at the Ploiești Refinery, hence his nickname, "the engineer". Since 1997, he started to work as an assistant manager for Astra Ploiești, club for which he was also a caretaker manager, secretary, translator, youth coach and manager in the next 15 years. Sinescu made its debut in the Liga I as a manager in 1999, when for a short period was the caretaker manager of "The Black Devils", then in 2012 he also debuted as a (full) manager in the top-flight, for the same club. Sorin Cigan
Sorin Cigan (born 29 May 1964) is a Romanian former professional footballer who played as a striker and currently a manager. In Romania Cigan played mostly for Bihor Oradea, but he had his best seasons at Brașov, then he played for rest of his career in Hungary, where he was a well known player, playing along his career for Budapest most important clubs Ferencváros and Újpest among other clubs. His son, Cristian Cigan is also a footballer. In June 2009 Cigan was involved in a scandal of match fixing, he was accused of receiving money from ACU Arad to convince Bihor Oradea players to let ACU win. Liga IV is the fourth level of the Romanian football league system and is run in all 41 counties and in the Municipality of Bucharest. It was known as the Regional Championship, County Championship, Divizia C – County Phase and Divizia D. Its name was changed into Liga IV before the start of the 2006–07 season. 2022–23 Liga III
The 2022–23 Liga III will be the 67th season of Liga III, the third tier of the Romanian football league system. The season will begin in August 2022 and is scheduled to end in June 2023. This season is the third consecutive with a format that will include 100 teams (10x10). The format was changed two seasons ago, due to the financial problems generated by the COVID-19 pandemic.
