COSPN Analamanga
Club Omnisport de La Police Nationale, commonly known as COSPN or COSPN Analamanga, is a Malagasy basketball club based in Antananarivo, Analamanga. The team plays in the N1A, the top tier level in Madagascar. COSPN is affiliated to the national police force and has won the league three times, in 2018, 2021 and 2022. In December 2018, COSPN qualified for the 2018–19 Africa Basketball League after defeating Premium Cobras from the Seychelles in the Zone 7 qualification. It was the COSPN's debut at Africa's highest continental level. The N1A is the premier basketball league for men' s teams in Madagascar. Currently, 12 teams play in the competition to determine the national champions of Madagascar. The defending champions are COSPN, who have won the 2023 season. ASCUT holds the record for most titles with six championships. The winners of each N1A season play in the Road to BAL, the qualifying rounds of the Basketball Africa League (BAL). 2018–19 Africa Basketball League
The 2019 FIBA Africa Basketball League was the 33nd edition of FIBA Africa's premier club Basketball tournament and the 1st under the new format and new name. The season saw an expansion from twelve to sixteen teams. The season began on February 8, 2019, and ended on May 26, 2019, with the conclusion of the Final Four. The Final Four was hosted at the Kilamba Arena in Luanda, Angola. It was the last season of the league as the competition was replaced by the Basketball Africa League (BAL), a new competition jointly established by the National Basketball Association (NBA) and FIBA. FIBA Africa Basketball League
The FIBA Africa Basketball League (formerly named the FIBA Africa Clubs Champions Cup) was the highest caliber men's professional basketball competition for clubs until 2020, organized by the FIBA Africa and played by the champions of the leagues of the African countries. Road To BAL
The Road to BAL, also known as the BAL Qualifying Tournaments, are the qualifying tournaments of the Basketball Africa League (BAL). While the main tournament is co-organised by FIBA and the NBA, the organization of the qualifiers is completely done by FIBA. The first qualifying rounds began on 16 October 2019 during the 2021 BAL qualification. The qualifiers are geographically divided into the West and East Division, with three teams qualifying out of each division. 2023 BAL Qualification
The qualification for the 2023 BAL season, also known as Road to BAL 2023, was the 3rd edition of the qualifying tournaments for the Basketball Africa League. The tournaments were organised by FIBA Africa and are held from 10 October to 27 November 2022. The format was similar to the previous two seasons, with a group phase and an elite 16 being held.
