The Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU or Cosatu) is a trade union federation in South Africa. The International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC; ; ; ) is the world's largest trade union federation. Jay Naidoo
Jayaseelan Naidoo (born 1954) is a South African politician and businessman who served as the founding general secretary of the Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU) from 1985 to 1993. He then served as Minister responsible for the Reconstruction and Development Programme in the first post-apartheid cabinet of President Nelson Mandela (1994–1996) and as Minister of Post, Telecommunications, and Broadcasting (1996–1999). Naidoo was a member of the NEC of the African National Congress. The Democratic Nursing Organisation of South Africa is a trade union in South Africa that describes itself as "a voluntary organisation for South African nurses and midwifery professionals". It was established in its current form on 5 December 1996.
