CONEG
The Coalition of Northeastern Governors (CONEG) is a non-partisan organization of seven governors of the Northeastern United States. The organization was founded in 1976 and is headquartered in Washington, D.C. The organization deals with regional issues and provides a forum for intergovernmental cooperation. Currently, the association comprises five Democrats and two Republicans. The current chairman is Republican Phil Scott of Vermont. Ned Lamont
Edward Miner Lamont Jr. ( ; born January 3, 1954) is an American businessman and politician serving since 2019 as the 89th governor of Connecticut. A member of the Democratic Party (United States), Democratic Party, he served as a Greenwich, Connecticut, Greenwich Board of selectmen, selectman from 1987 to 1989, and was the party's nominee for the United States Senate in 2006 United States Senate election in Connecticut, 2006, losing to incumbent Joe Lieberman.
