CMC Leopard
The CMC Leopard was a British light personal business jet developed in the 1980s. Two prototypes were built and flown, but the type was never put into production. Design and development The Leopard was a twin-jet, mid-wing monoplane of composite construction with all-swept flying surfaces and jet fighter-like styling, apart from the Nacelle, podded engines, mounted on each side of the rear fuselage. The entire Aircraft canopy, canopy hinged forward to allow access to the four reclining seats. A mockup was completed in 1982, leading to a prototype (Aircraft registration, registration ) built by the Designability company. The prototype first flew late in 1988. Williams International
Williams International is an American manufacturer of small gas turbine engines based in Pontiac, Michigan, United States. It produces jet engines for cruise missiles and small jet aircraft. History Dr. Sam B. Williams worked at Chrysler on their automotive turbine systems, but always imagined a wider set of applications for the small gas turbine engine. He left Chrysler to form Williams Research Corporation in Birmingham, Michigan, in 1954. In 1981, the company became Williams International. It has been building small turbofan engines since the 1950s for use in cruise missiles as well as target and reconnaissance drones. Bournemouth Aviation Museum
The Bournemouth Aviation Museum is an aviation museum located next to Bournemouth International Airport, near the village of Hurn in Christchurch, England. It houses a number of aircraft, aero engines, cockpits, and a limited number of ground vehicles. History The museum was founded in May 1998 as the Jet Heritage Museum and was located on the property of Bournemouth Airport. However, the following year it was renamed Bournemouth Aviation Museum. Then, due to expansion of the airport, in 2008 the museum was forced to move to a site near the Adventure Wonderland theme park on the south side of the B3073 road. The Farnborough International Airshow is a trade exhibition for the aerospace and defence industries, where civilian and military aircraft are demonstrated to potential customers and investors in Farnborough, Hampshire. Since its first show in 1948, Farnborough has seen the debut of many famous aeroplanes, including the Vickers VC10, Concorde, the Eurofighter, the Airbus A380, and the Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II. At the 1958 show, Hawker Hunters of the RAF's Black Arrows executed a 22-aircraft formation loop, setting a new world record. The international trade show runs for five days.
