Canadian Learning Television
Oprah Winfrey Network, more commonly shortened to OWN, was a Canadian English language discretionary service channel owned by Corus Entertainment. The network's owner, Corus Entertainment, licensed the OWN brand and its American programming from Warner Bros. Discovery. Established on September 1, 1999 as Canadian Learning Television (CLT) by Learning and Skills Television of Alberta, Ltd., , the channel began as a spinoff of Access, targeting a family and male demographic with a focus on educational and infomercial programming. Its lineup later expanded to incorporate lifestyle, entertainment and reality programming aimed at a female audience. Under Corus ownership and its final branding as Oprah Winfrey Network, the channel adopted its final format and largely retired its original format. Corus eventually lost the rights to the OWN brand and its U.S. programming at the end of summer 2024, resulting in the complete shutdown of OWN effective September 1, 2024. Although Rogers ...

Cross-laminated Timber
Cross-laminated timber (CLT) is a subcategory of engineered wood panel product made from gluing together at least three layers of solid-sawn lumber at angles to each other. It is similar to plywood but with distinctively thicker laminations (or lamellae). The grain of each layer of boards is usually rotated 90 degrees from that of adjacent layers and glued on the wide faces of each board, usually in a symmetric way so that the outer layers have the same orientation. An odd number of layers is most common, but there are configurations with even numbers as well (which are then arranged to give a symmetric configuration). Regular timber is an anisotropic material, meaning that the physical properties change depending on the direction at which the force is applied. By gluing layers of wood at right angles, the panel is able to achieve better structural rigidity in both directions. CLT is distinct from glued laminated timber (known as glulam), which is a product with all laminatio ...

Central Location Test
Central location tests are a type of Quantitative research technique. They are product and communication development or marketing tests Test(s), testing, or TEST may refer to: * Test (assessment), an educational assessment intended to measure the respondents' knowledge or other abilities Arts and entertainment * ''Test'' (2013 film), an American film * ''Test'' (2014 film) ... performed in controlled environments, contrary to home-user tests, which take place where the products would actually be used. A Central Location Test (CLT) is one in which the research is conducted in a location, such as a room in a shopping mall. In this instance, consumers would be recruited to participate in a research product at the mall and the research would be conducted and completed at that time. CLT is mainly used to shortlist one or few from multiple options under consideration. It can be used for product tasting, advertisements, packages, etc. References Market research ...

Construal Level Theory
Construal level theory (CLT) is a theory in social psychology that describes the relation between psychological distance and the extent to which people's thinking (e.g., about objects and events) is Abstraction, abstract or Concrete (philosophy), concrete. The core idea of CLT is that the more distant an object is from the individual, the more abstract it will be thought of, while the closer the object is, the more concretely it will be thought of. In CLT, psychological distance is defined on several dimensions—time, temporal, space, spatial, Social distance, social and hypothetical distance being considered most important, though there is some debate among social psychologists about further dimensions like informational, experiential or affective distance. The theory was developed by the Israeli social psychologists Nira Liberman and the American psychologist Yaacov Trope. An example of construal level effects would be that although planning one's next summer vacation one year ...

Central Limit Theorem
In probability theory, the central limit theorem (CLT) states that, under appropriate conditions, the Probability distribution, distribution of a normalized version of the sample mean converges to a Normal distribution#Standard normal distribution, standard normal distribution. This holds even if the original variables themselves are not Normal distribution, normally distributed. There are several versions of the CLT, each applying in the context of different conditions. The theorem is a key concept in probability theory because it implies that probabilistic and statistical methods that work for normal distributions can be applicable to many problems involving other types of distributions. This theorem has seen many changes during the formal development of probability theory. Previous versions of the theorem date back to 1811, but in its modern form it was only precisely stated as late as 1920. In statistics, the CLT can be stated as: let X_1, X_2, \dots, X_n denote a Sampling ...

Clot Lysis Time
The overall hemostatic potential (OHP) test is a global coagulation assay which can be used to measure coagulation. The OHP assay measures total fibrin generation in the presence of thrombin or tissue factor and tissue plasminogen activator (t-PA). It generates a fibrin time curve through the use of optical density measurement. This curve represents the balance between fibrin formation induced by thrombin or tissue factor and fibrinolysis induced by t-PA. The assay provides three parameters: overall coagulation potential (OCP), overall hemostatic potential (OHP), and overall fibrinolytic potential (OFP). OHP is the main parameter, while OCP and OFP are supplementary parameters to assess coagulation and fibrinolysis. One further parameter, clot lysis time (CLT), can also be determined. The OHP assay measures the integrated effect of procoagulant, anticoagulant, and fibrinolytic factors. The OHP is a technically simple but relatively labor-intensive assay. As of 2010, it had been i ...

Chronic Lymphocytic Thyroiditis
Hashimoto's thyroiditis, also known as chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis, Hashimoto's disease and autoimmune thyroiditis, is an autoimmune disease in which the thyroid gland is gradually destroyed. Early on, symptoms may not be noticed. Over time, the thyroid may enlarge, forming a painless goiter. Most people eventually develop hypothyroidism with accompanying weight gain, fatigue, constipation, hair loss, and general pains. After many years the thyroid typically shrinks in size. Potential complications include thyroid lymphoma. Further complications of hypothyroidism can include high cholesterol, heart disease, heart failure, high blood pressure, myxedema, and potential problems in pregnancy. Hashimoto's thyroiditis is thought to be due to a combination of genetic and environmental factors. Risk factors include a family history of the condition and having another autoimmune disease. Diagnosis is confirmed with blood tests for TSH, thyroxine ( T4), antithyroid autoantibodies ...

Consolidation Of Labor Laws
The Consolidation of Labor Laws (, CLT), officially Decree Law No. 5,452, is the decree which governs labor relations in Brazil. It was issued in 1943 by GetĂșlio Vargas, President of Brazil and was officially adopted on May 1, 1943. The Constitution allowed him to issue decrees to regulate all matters that were supposed to be regulated by the federal legislative branch while the Parliament didn't assemble. The Parliament never assembled during the period in which that Constitution was valid. Some sources defend that the CLL was partly inspired by labor laws under Benito Mussolini in Italy Italy, officially the Italian Republic, is a country in Southern Europe, Southern and Western Europe, Western Europe.
