CKRS (AM)
CILM-FM is a French-language Canadian radio station located in Saguenay, Quebec. The station carries adult contemporary format as part of the Rythme FM network. Owned by Cogeco, it broadcasts on 98.3 MHz using a directional antenna with an average effective radiated power of 51,000 watts and a peak effective radiated power of 100,000 watts ( class C1). Before 2007, the station was heard on the AM band on 590 kHz with a daytime power of 25,000 watts and a nighttime power of 7,500 watts as a class B station, using a directional antenna with slightly different daytime and nighttime directional patterns in order to protect various other stations on that frequency. CKRS went on the air on June 24, 1947. The station broadcasts from the CBC Tower on Warren Street in Chicoutimi. Chicoutimi, Quebec
Chicoutimi () is the most populous borough (arrondissement) of the city of Saguenay in Quebec, Canada. It is situated at the confluence of the Saguenay and Chicoutimi rivers. During the 20th century, it became the main administrative and commercial centre of the Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean region. Louis Champagne is a Canadian talk radio personality, who is hosts a morning daily program on CKGS-FM in La Baie, Quebec. He was the longtime host of another daily program on CKRS-FM until November 2008. He is best known for controversial remarks he made during the 2007 Quebec election campaign, when he interviewed Lac-Saint-Jean Parti Québécois candidate Alexandre Cloutier on February 19, 2007. Controversy Sylvain Gaudreault, the PQ candidate in the neighbouring riding to Cloutier's, and André Boisclair, the Parti Québécois' leader during the election campaign, are both openly gay. Souvenirs Garantis ''(French for "Memories Guaranteed")'' was a network of French-language classic hits radio stations broadcasting throughout Quebec, Canada. Anchored by CFOM-FM 102.9 in Quebec City, the format was created by Corus Entertainment, as part of the Corus Québec group of stations. Under Corus ownership, ''Souvenirs Garantis'' stations were based in all major Quebec markets, except for Montreal, which had no station carrying the format full-time. The format featured a largely defined classic hits format, including music from the 1970s to the 1990s but mostly from the 1970s and 1980s.
