CKNL-FM is a Canadian radio station that broadcasts a Rock music, rock format at 101.5 FM broadcasting, FM in Fort St. John, British Columbia. The station is branded as ''101.5 The GOAT'' and is owned by Vista Radio. History The station originally began broadcasting June 20, 1962 at 970 AM broadcasting, AM, and later moved to 560 AM and finally to the FM dial at 101.5 FM in 2003. When the FM transition was approved, the station was to continue the country music, country format of the former 560 CKNL. However, likely in response to the recent licensing of CKFU-FM in the same market at that time, when the station flipped to FM the format was switched to a rock music, rock station as ''101.5 The Bear''. The Canadian Communications Foundation (CCF) was a Canadian nonprofit organization which documented the history of broadcasting in Canada, particularly radio and television networks, programs and broadcasters. The organization was established in 1967 and announced that it would begin wrapping up its work in 2023. Since 1995, the organization distributed its collection via its website. Hudson's Hope is a district municipality in northeastern British Columbia, Canada, in the Peace River Regional District.
