CJ Fodrey
Calvin Jay "CJ" Fodrey (born February 10, 2004) is an American soccer player who plays as a forward for Major League Soccer club Austin FC. Career Youth Born in California, Fodrey began his career with local San Diego–based clubs Albion Pros Club, San Diego Surf, and San Diego Nomads. He then joined the youth setup of Major League Soccer club LA Galaxy in 2019. San Diego Loyal Towards the end of 2020, Fodrey was invited to tryout with USL Championship club San Diego Loyal by the club assistant coach Nate Miller. He impressed during the trial and signed a USL academy contract with the club in December 2020. He scored his first goal for the club in their pre-season match against his former club LA Galaxy. On May 22, 2021, Fodrey made his professional debut for San Diego Loyal against Louisville City, coming on as an 81st-minute substitute in the 1–2 defeat. Nate Miller (coach)
Nathan David Miller (born 1986) is an American soccer coach who is currently the head coach of USL Championship side San Diego Loyal SC. Playing career Miller played for Mechanicsburg Area Senior High School in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. He then attended Taylor University in Upland, Indiana, where he was a four-year starting midfielder from 2004–2008. He was selected to the Mid-Central College Conference (MCC) All-Conference team in 2005 and 2006 and to the All-Region team in 2007. Miller served as captain of the Trojan soccer team his senior year. After college, Miller played central midfield for the Vikings AA semi-professional soccer league in Chicago, IL. 2023 Austin FC Season
The 2023 Austin FC season was the club's third season in Major League Soccer, the top flight of soccer in the United States. They played in the league's Western Conference and finished as Western runners-up to Los Angeles FC in the 2022 regular season standings. Austin participated in two new competitions in 2023, their first regional competition (the 2023 Leagues Cup) and continental competitions (the 2023 CONCACAF Champions League), but did not advance in either competition. 2024 Austin FC II Season
The 2024 Austin FC II season was the club's second season in MLS Next Pro, the third tier of soccer in the United States. They played in the league's Western Conference. Leagues Cup
The Leagues Cup is an annual association football competition between clubs from Major League Soccer and Liga MX in North America. It debuted in July 2019 with four teams participating from each league. The first edition was a single-elimination tournament hosted in the United States with a final played in Las Vegas on September 18, 2019. Beginning in 2023, the tournament will be expanded to include all clubs from MLS and Liga MX, and will function as the regional cup for the North American zone within CONCACAF, with the top three teams qualifying for the CONCACAF Champions League. 2023 MLS SuperDraft
The 2023 MLS SuperDraft was the 24th edition of the SuperDraft conducted by Major League Soccer. It was held on December 21, 2022, becoming the first SuperDraft to be held in December, but will retain the 2023 branding. The draft was conducted via conference call and streamed online. Previously, the SuperDraft had been held in conjunction with the annual January United Soccer Coaches convention. Since 2021, the SuperDraft has consisted of three rounds. Teams that received fourth-round picks for this draft via past trades received compensatory picks instead. Generation Adidas is a joint venture between Major League Soccer and U.S. Soccer aimed at raising the level of young professional soccer talent in the United States.
