CITM-FM (98.5 MHz ''Mix 98.5'') is a Canadian radio station in Ottawa, Ontario. It is owned by Evanov Communications and broadcasts an adult contemporary format under the management of Torres Media, pending completion of the station's sale to the latter company. CITM's studios are located in The Glebe at 150 Isabella Street, while its transmitter is located in downtown Ottawa. History In June 2005, the CRTC granted a license to CKMW Radio Ltd.—a company owned by Bill Evanov—for a new FM radio station in Ottawa, Ontario; the company proposed an adult standards/easy listening format. On February 20, 2006, the station launched as CJWL-FM with the branding ''Jewel 98.5''; similar to sister stations CKDX and CKPC-FM, the station broadcast a mix of soft adult contemporary and adult standards music. CIDG-FM (101.7 FM, "Rebel Rock 101.7") is a radio station in Ottawa, Ontario. Owned by Torres Media, it broadcasts a mainstream rock format serving the National Capital Region. Its studios are located on Ridgewood Avenue, while its transmitter is located atop an apartment tower on Montreal Road East at Bathgate Drive in Gloucester. History Licensing, blues format The station's application was awarded to Torres Media, and approved by the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission on August 26, 2008. The station began testing its signal on 101.9 FM on June 1, 2010 and launched the morning of June 7, 2010. The station originally broadcast a blues and blues-rock format branded as ''Dawg-FM''. CHRC-FM (92.5 FM, "92.5 Big FM") is a radio station licensed to Rockland, Ontario. Owned by Radio communautaire Cornwall-Alexandria, it broadcasts an adult hits format serving Clarence-Rockland, Ontario. History On February 25, 2013, the CRTC approved an application for a new FM radio station in Rockland, Ontario by Dufferin Communications, a subsidiary of Evanov Radio Group. Evanov proposed an adult contemporary station broadcasting on 92.5 FM with an effective radiated power (ERP) of 333 watts. Cogeco and Evanov accepted that there would be a small zone of interference between the new station and CKBE-FM in Montreal. In June 2013, the station was assigned the call letters CHRC-FM. That call sign was previously used by a now-defunct radio station in Quebec City. CKHK-FM (107.7 FM, "107.7 Big FM") is a radio station in Hawkesbury, Ontario. Owned by Radio communautaire Cornwall-Alexandria, it broadcasts an adult hits format. History On June 27, 2007, Ottawa Media Inc., a subsidiary of Evanov Communications, was licensed by the CRTC to operate a new FM station at Hawkesbury. On April 14, 2008 at 9:00 AM, the station was launched as ''107.7 The Jewel'', with a soft adult contemporary format. In May 2021, the station flipped to country as ''Hot Country 107.7'', as part of a realignment of several Evanov stations. Evanov Communications is a Canadian radio broadcasting company. It is also the sole owner of Dufferin Communications Inc., 80% owner of Halifax Broadcasting Ltd. and Ottawa Media Inc. The group of Evanov companies owns and operates a number of radio stations in Ontario, Quebec, Manitoba and Nova Scotia.
