CIMI-FM
CIMI-FM was a French-language talk radio and modern rock radio station in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada. The station broadcast at 103.7 FM and broadcasts from the borough of Charlesbourg. History The non-profit organization which manages the radio station was registered in December 1999 by three young promoters, Philippe Bélanger, Dominique Tessier, Pierre-Luc Dancause, and the board of directors sat for the first time in January 2000. During the summer of 2000, a business plan was assembled, a technical study carried out and an application for a broadcast license was filed with the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC). On 31 March 2001, the CRTC granted the license and the station began broadcasting on 10 August of the same year at 4:15 p.m. In the beginning, 24-year-old Philippe Bélanger was program director and hosted the station's launch. André Arthur
André Arthur (December 21, 1943 – May 8, 2022) was a Canadian radio host and politician. He was the independent Member of Parliament for the riding of Portneuf—Jacques-Cartier from 2006 to 2011. He is known for his outspoken style and anti-statist right-of-center politics in a province known for mainly supporting left-of-center policies, but has nonetheless earned widespread popularity, earning the nickname ''le Roi Arthur'' ("King Arthur"). CHXX-FM (100.9 FM, ''BPM Sports 100.9 Québec'') is a French-language radio station in Quebec City, Quebec. Owned by RNC Media, it carries a sports talk format as an affiliate of RNC's ''BPM Sports'' network. It broadcasts with an effective radiated power of 1,585 watts ( class B) using an omnidirectional antenna. The station also has one rebroadcaster, operating on 105.5 FM in Lotbinière. History Under its former call sign CKNU, the station had a classic rock format and was largely automated. Owned and operated by Cogeco, it broadcasts on 106.9 MHz using a directional antenna with an average effective radiated power of 59,000 watts and a peak effective radiated power of 100,000 watts, as a Class C1 station.
