CHIJ Katong Convent
CHIJ Katong Convent (CHIJ – KC) is a government-aided autonomous Catholic girls' secondary school in Marine Parade, Singapore. The school is one of 11 Convent of the Holy Infant Jesus (CHIJ) schools in Singapore. The school has produced successful alumni who serve in many facets of society. History In the 1920s, the Convent of the Holy Infant Jesus acquired one of the private bungalows on the eastern coast of Singapore as a weekend holiday bungalow for the nuns and boarders of the convent. In 1930, these buildings were used as a private school and in 1932 the school was given a grant-in-aid status. The first set of students registered in January 1932 was mixed – 171 girls and 26 boys. Upon the completion of Saint Patrick's School in late 1932, the boys were transferred there. Jeannette Chong-Aruldoss
Jeannette Florina Chong-Aruldoss Yean Yoong ( zh, s=张媛容, p=Zhāng Yuánróng, born 27 May 1963) is a Singaporean lawyer and politician. She started her political career by joining the Reform Party (RP) in 2009. In 2011, she left RP to join the National Solidarity Party (NSP) where she served as the NSP's secretary-general from October 2013 to January 2015. In April 2015, Chong-Aruldoss left NSP, after a failed leadership challenge, to join the Singapore People's Party (SPP) which she left in 2019. Education Chong-Aruldoss was educated at CHIJ Katong Convent before she read law at the University of Kent at Canterbury and completed a Bachelor of Laws (honours) in 1985. Georgina Chang
Georgina Chang is a Singaporean who used to head Mediacorp's The Celebrity Agency. She has left Mediacorp since then. She was also a former radio personality, television broadcaster, and newspaper columnist. Chang was also the vice-president of Mediacorp's English Programming (Music), Radio, and the creative director of Singapore radio stations Lush 99.5FM (till 31 August 2017 before it ceased operations due to low listenership) and 987FM. Veronica Shanti Pereira (born 20 September 1996) is a Singaporean track and field athlete who specialises in the 100 metres, 100 m, 200 metres, 200 m, 4 x 100 metres relay, 4 x 100 m, and 4 x 400 metres relay, 4 x 400 m. Janet Elizabeth Jesudason (born 15 December 1936) is a Singaporean former sprinter. She competed in the women's 100 metres at the 1956 Summer Olympics. Early life and education Jesudason was born on 15 December 1936 in Perak, Malaysia to an Indian father and a Chinese mother. She moved to Singapore with her family in 1950 when her father became a teacher at Raffles Institution (RI). Dinah Chan Siew Kheng (born 24 May 1986) is a Singaporean former road and track cyclist. Chan won the gold medal in the individual time trial at the 2013 South East Asian Games, held in Naypyidaw, Myanmar, ending a 16-year title drought for Singapore. Chan competed for Singapore at the 2010 and 2014 Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea, finishing 4th in the individual time trial in the latter. The United Nations Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM, , ) was established in December 1976 originally as the Voluntary Fund for the United Nations Decade for Women in the International Women's Year. Noeleen Heyzer (born 26 April 1948) is a Singaporean social scientist, diplomat, and United Nations official who was the United Nations Special Envoy on Myanmar from October 2021 until June 2023. During 2007 to 2015, Heyzer was an Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations and the Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP). Chan Heng Chee (; born 19 April 1942) is a Singaporean academic and diplomat who has been serving as Ambassador-at-Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 2012, Chairwoman of the National Arts Council and Member of the Presidential Council for Minority Rights. Nicole Seah
Nicole Rebecca Seah Xue Ling (; born 17 October 1986) is a Singaporean politician. A former member of the Workers' Party, Seah contested the 2020 general election but lost to the governing People's Action Party (PAP) by a close margin. Seah rose to prominence as a candidate representing the National Solidarity Party (NSP) in Marine Parade GRC in the 2011 general election.
