Radio broadcasting is the broadcasting of audio (sound), sometimes with related metadata, by radio waves to radio receivers belonging to a public audience. Inuktitut Language
Inuktitut ( ; , syllabics ), also known as Eastern Canadian Inuktitut, is one of the principal Inuit languages of Canada. It is spoken in all areas north of the North American tree line, including parts of the provinces of Newfoundland and Labrador, Quebec, to some extent in northeastern Manitoba as well as the Northwest Territories and Nunavut. CHGO-FM
CHGO-FM is a Canadian radio station, which broadcasts at 104.3 FM in Val-d'Or, Quebec. Owned and operated by Arsenal Media, the station airs an active rock format branded as Capitale Rock. It also shares much of its programming with CJGO-FM in La Sarre, although the two stations each produce their own separate morning programs. The radio station originally began as CKVD 900, an AM station that was part of the Abitibi AM network since 1939 with CHAD Amos (now defunct) and CKRN Rouyn-Noranda (now CHOA-FM), until it was converted to FM in 1999. CHGO also had a rebroadcaster in: *Rouyn-Noranda, CJGO-FM-1 95.7 *La Sarre, CJGO-FM at 102.1. On August 6, 2010, the CRTC granted that repeater to switch to CJGO. CHOA-FM
CHOA-FM is a Canadian radio station, broadcasting at 96.5 FM broadcasting, FM in Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec. The station has an adult contemporary format branded as ''Wow 96.5''. Owned and operated by Arsenal Media, the station aired an adult contemporary format from its inception, both under independent branding and as an affiliate of Astral Media's Rouge FM, RockDétente and Cogeco's Rythme FM networks. The station briefly adopted a modern rock format branded as ''Radio X'' after RNC Media acquired CHOI-FM, CHOI in Quebec City in 2006, but later reverted to the Couleur FM name and format, and was rebranded as ''Planète'' in 2008. CHLM-FM
CHLM-FM is a Canadian radio station, broadcasting at 90.7 FM in Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec. The station broadcasts the programming of the Ici Radio-Canada Première network. History In 1976, then-owner Radio-Nord Communications was granted a license from the CRTC, in which the station would operate as Radio-Canada's private affiliate of what was then called "Première Chaîne"; also included was a rebroadcaster, CHLM-FM-1 at Lithium Mines, serving nearby Val-d'Or, operating on 97.3 MHz with effective radiated power of 52,000 watts. In 1979, CHLM-FM-1 was authorized to move to 103.5 MHz and to increase effective radiated power to 55,300 watts. Ici Musique (stylized ICI Musique) is the French-language music radio service of Canada's national public broadcaster, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (''Société Radio-Canada''). It is the French equivalent of the English CBC Music, although it has a different programming focus. History The network was originally launched as ''Le FM de Radio-Canada'' in 1974, with stations in Montreal, Ottawa, Quebec City and Chicoutimi. The network grew slowly. Amos, Quebec
Amos is a town (Quebec), town in northwestern Quebec, Canada, on the Harricana River. It is the seat of Abitibi Regional County Municipality. Amos is the main town on the Harricana River, and the smallest of the three primary towns — after Rouyn-Noranda and Val-d'Or — in the Abitibi-Témiscamingue region of Quebec. The smaller communities of Lac-Gauvin and Saint-Maurice-de-Dalquier are also within the municipal boundaries of Amos. History Rupert's Land, in which Abitibi was located, was owned by the Hudson's Bay Company and was bought by Canada in 1869. CFGT-FM is a French-language Canadian radio station located in Alma, Quebec. Owned and operated by Cogeco following its 2018 acquisition of most of the stations formerly owned by RNC Media, it broadcasts on 104.5 MHz with an effective radiated power of 20,000 watts, using an omnidirectional antenna ( class B); it was previously heard on the AM band, on 1270 kHz, with a daytime power of 10,000 watts and a nighttime power of 5,000 watts as a class B station, using a directional antenna with slightly different daytime and nighttime directional patterns in order to protect various other stations on that frequency.
