CHBW-FM-1
CHBW-FM is a Canadian radio station, that broadcasts a classic hits format at 94.5 FM in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta. The station is owned by Jim Pattison Group. Owned by the Jim Pattison Group the station was licensed in 1997. In 2000, the station was authorized to add a transmitter at Nordegg on the frequency 93.9 FM to replace the rebroadcaster CIBW-FM at Drayton Valley. In early 2008, CHBW-FM broke away from CIBW-FM and became its own entity in the classic hits genre and was rebranded ''B-94'' "Playing Whatever". The station later switched to a hot adult contemporary format in the early 2010s, dropping the "Playing Whatever" moniker in favor of the new format. Drayton Valley
Drayton Valley is a town in central Alberta, Canada. It is located on Highway 22 (Cowboy Trail), approximately southwest of Edmonton. It is surrounded by Brazeau County, known for its vast oil fields. The town is located between the North Saskatchewan River and the Pembina River. The town was named after Drayton, Hampshire, the birthplace of the wife of one of the Alberta town's postmasters. History Prior to the 1953 oil boom, the community of Drayton Valley was sparsely populated. The main economic activities were farming and logging. Drayton Valley was incorporated as a village in 1956 and officially became a town in 1957. In 1955 a ferry was built to cross the North Saskatchewan River. Nordegg, Alberta
Nordegg is a hamlet in west-central Alberta, Canada within Clearwater County. It is located in the North Saskatchewan River valley in the foothills of the Canadian Rockies, just east of the intersection of the David Thompson Highway and the Highway 734 spur of the Bighorn Highway (the Forestry Trunk Road). A former coal mining town, it was named after Martin Nordegg and the name probably means "North Corner" in a German dialect. The railway station name at the locality was called ''Brazeau'' rather than ''Nordegg'' at certain points in its history, but the local post office has always been named ''Nordegg''.
