CFXP-FM
CFXE-FM (94.3 MHz) is a Canadian radio station licensed to Edson, Alberta. Owned by Stingray Group, it broadcasts a country format branded as ''New Country''. Alongside its main signal in Edson, the station maintains three rebroadcasters in northwestern Alberta; CFXH-FM in Hinton, CFXP-FM in Jasper, and CFXG-FM in Grande Cache. The station also maintains a satellite studio in Hinton, and broadcasts their afternoon show (12 Noon - 6PM) from Hinton. History CFXE signed on April 4, 1968, as CJYR on 970 kHz, with 10,000 watts power. In 2005, the station was bought by Newcap Broadcasting and was relaunched as ''The Fox''. In 2007, the station was moved to 94.3 MHz with 11,000 watts power. On September 29, 2010, the station received CRTC approval to move CFXE-FM's rebroadcast transmitter, CFXG (AM 1230) in Grande Cache, to the FM dial. Jasper, Alberta
Jasper is a specialized municipality and townsite in western Alberta within the Canadian Rockies. The townsite is in the Athabasca River valley and is the commercial centre of Jasper National Park. History Established in 1813, Jasper House was first a fur trade outpost of the North West Company, and later Hudson's Bay Company, on the York Factory Express trade route to what was then called "New Caledonia" (now British Columbia) and Fort Vancouver on the lower Columbia River. Jasper House was 35 km north of today's town of Jasper. Jasper Forest Park was established in 1907. Stingrays are a group of sea rays, a type of cartilaginous fish. Canadian Communications Foundation
The Canadian Communications Foundation (CCF) was a Canadian nonprofit organization which documented the history of broadcasting in Canada, particularly radio and television networks, programs and broadcasters. The organization was established in 1967 and announced that it would begin wrapping up its work in 2023. Since 1995, the organization distributed its collection via its website. The CCF was established in 1967 by the Canadian Association of Broadcasters. Its mission: to "commemorate throughout Canada the development of electronic communications". By 2020, the foundation started to wind down as its original mission was largely accomplished. Westwood One, Inc. is an American radio network owned by Cumulus Media. The company syndicates talk, music, and sports programming. The company takes its name from an earlier network also named Westwood One, a company founded in 1976. The company was, at various times, managed by CBS Radio, the radio arm of CBS Corporation and Viacom.
