CFIG Arena
CFIG Arena is a association football, football stadium in Pardubice, Czech Republic. It is the home stadium of FK Pardubice. It has a capacity of 4,620 seats. History The stadium was built in 1930–1931. In May 1931 stadium was opened by the first Czechoslovak president Tomáš Masaryk, Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk. Formerly known as ''Letní stadion'', it was a multi-purpose stadium until 1968, then it served only for football and American football. Stadium capacity from the original 15,000 spectators dropped to just 1,000 spectators. Present In 2021–2023, the stadium was completely reconstructed to meet the criteria for the Czech First League. The stadium was formally renamed to CFIG Arena for sponsorship reasons, but unofficially it is called Arnošt Košťál Stadium. The first match to take place at the stadium was the Czech First League match on 4 January 2023, with Pardubice hosting SK Slavia Prague, Slavia Prague. The hosts won 2–0. Pardubice (; ) is a city in the Czech Republic. It has about 92,000 inhabitants. It is the capital city of the Pardubice Region and lies on the Elbe River. Karel Řepa (23 October 1895 – 2 March 1963) was a Czechoslovak architect. Life and career Born in Nový Ples, a pupil of Jože Plečnik, Řepa graduated from the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague. FK Pardubice is a Czech football club located in the city of Pardubice. Since 2020, the club has played in the Czech First League. The club is the successor of TJ Tesla Pardubice, which merged with FC Loko Pardubice in 2008. History The club advanced to the Bohemian Football League in 2010 from the Czech Fourth Division. Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk (7 March 185014 September 1937) was a Czechoslovaks, Czechoslovak statesman, political activist and philosopher who served as the first List of presidents of Czechoslovakia, president of Czechoslovakia from 1918 to 1935. The Czech First League () also known as the Chance Liga for sponsorship reasons, is a professional association football league in the Czech Republic and the highest level of the Czech Republic football league system.
