CFCV-FM
CFGN-FM is an FM radio station in Port aux Basques, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada, broadcasting at 96.7 MHz. Originally launched as a repeater on August 7, 1971 at 1230 kHz, it opened its own studios in 1973. In 1996, it became a repeater of CFSX. The station is owned by Stingray Group. CFGN carries the entire VOCM lineup except for a block of programming from CFCB on weekday mornings and for a six-hour block on Saturday mornings. CFGN also has a repeater in St. Andrew's, CFCV-FM at 97.7 MHz. On April 2, 2001, the sale of Humber Valley Broadcasting Co. Ltd. to Newcap Inc. was approved. CFSX
CFSX is an AM radio station in Stephenville, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada, broadcasting at 870 kHz. Originally launched as a repeater on November 13, 1964, it opened its own studios in 1970. The station is owned by Stingray Group. It is an affiliate of VOCM. In 1985, CFSX moved from 910 to its current frequency, 870. In September 2016, CFSX was shut down by Newcap Radio without any notice. The station is now a full-time repeater of CFCB in Corner Brook, changing its identity to ''VOCM''. Before then, CFSX operated as a daytime station, and served as a nighttime repeater to CFCB. CFCB
CFCB (570 kHz) is an AM radio station in Corner Brook, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. It broadcasts at a power of 10,000 watts by day and 1,000 watts at night. Owned by Stingray Group, CFCB first went on the air on October 3, 1960. The station was founded by Dr. Noel Murphy. On March 26, 2012, CFCB rebranded, which included a new slogan, logo and programming. The "Local News Now" slogan was adopted from VOCM in St. John's, which had rebranded just weeks before. The new CFCB logo also features the VOCM color scheme, which includes yellow and red. As of March 9, 2022, CFCB no longer originates any local programming from Corner Brook following the closure of its studios and termination of on-air personnel by Stingray. All content of this station is now simulcast from VOCM in St. John's, with the exception of local commercials. Channel-Port Aux Basques
Channel-Port aux Basques is a town at the extreme southwestern tip of Newfoundland fronting on the western end of the Cabot Strait. A Marine Atlantic ferry terminal is located in the town which is the primary entry point onto the island of Newfoundland and the western terminus of the Newfoundland and Labrador Route 1 (Trans-Canada Highway) in the province. The town was incorporated in 1945 and its population in the 2021 census was 3,547. Port aux Basques is the oldest of the collection of villages that make up the present-day town, which consists of Port aux Basques, Channel, Grand Bay and Mouse Island.
