CESAFI Esports League
The Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. (CESAFI) is a sports and academic association of 17 schools, colleges and universities in Cebu, Philippines. The CESAFI was established in 2001. History Before the creation of the CESAFI, there was already a collegiate league in Cebu, named the Cebu Amateur Athletic Association (CAAA), also formerly known as Cebu Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA). The league was created sometime in the 1930s and was the country's second college sports league, only preceded by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) which was created in 1924, and way before the creation of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) in 1938. CAAA was regarded as clearly the best college sports league outside Metro Manila and one of the three major college leagues together with the UAAP and the NCAA, both of which are based in Manila. Dondon Hontiveros
Donaldo "Dondon" Cabañes Hontiveros (born June 1, 1977) is a Filipino politician and former professional basketball player and coach. He has been serving as vice mayor of Cebu City since 2024 by virtue of succession, due to the suspension of Mayor Mike Rama wherein Vice Mayor Raymond Alvin Garcia assumed the mayorship. Hontiveros had previously served as vice mayor of Cebu City from 2021 to 2022 also by virtue of succession due to the death of Mayor Edgardo Labella wherein Vice Mayor Mike Rama assumed the mayorship. Before assuming the vice mayorship, Hontiveros was a member of the Cebu City Council from 2019 to 2021 and 2022 to 2024, garnering the most votes in the council elections of 2019 and 2022 respectively. Southwestern University (Philippines)
The Southwestern University, officially the Southwestern University PHINMA (SWU PHINMA), is a private university in Cebu City, Philippines. Founded and opened in the summer of 1946 by two pharmacists, SWU originally started as Southwestern Colleges and achieved university status on December 11, 1959. The university and its base hospital were acquired by PHINMA Education, a subsidiary of PHINMA Corporation in 2015. The university was renamed to Southwestern University PHINMA and the hospital from Sacred Heart Hospital to Southwestern University Medical Center. The university changed the logo and closed its South Campus in Basak San Nicolas, Cebu City. It has a large number of international students from different countries.
