CD Travadores
Clube Desportivo Travadores ( Capeverdean Crioulo, ALUPEC: ''Klubi Desportivu Travadoris'') is a football club in the Santiago South Premier Division in Cape Verde and are one of the unrelegated clubs of the Premier Division. It is based in the capital city of Praia, on the island of Santiago, and plays in a stadium with a capacity of 8,000. It is affiliated with Portuguese club S.L. Benfica and was its first affiliate in Cape Verde and in the western part of West Africa. Travadores' nicknames are ''Índios'' (Indians) and ''Águias'' (Eagles). Travadores is one of the most successful football clubs in Cape Verde, having won 12 official titles, of which 3 are national and 9 are regional. Estádio Da Várzea
Estádio da Várzea is a multi-purpose stadium in Praia, Cape Verde just west of the city center's plateau in the subdivision of Várzea and on Avenida Cidade de Lisboa on its east side. It is currently used mostly for football matches. The stadium holds 8,000 people. The stadium is owned by the city of Praia and is operated by the Santiago South Regional Football Association and serves its headquarters of the association. The other stadium operated by the association in the south of the island is Calabaceira. The entrance is on the west side of the stadium where most of the seat is. The stadium has seat rows in the left and right sides, 200 meters east is the Plateau of Praia. Its size is 108 by 69 m, the longest part of the field goes north to south with a 15 degree angle facing east at the top. Its elevation is about 4 meters above sea level. Sporting Clube da Praia, short form: Sporting Praia (Capeverdean Crioulo, ALUPEC or ALUPEK as well as Badiu: ''Sporting Klubi di Praia'') is a professional football club that plays in the Santiago South Premier Division in Cape Verde. It is based in the capital city of Praia in the island of Santiago, one of the unrelegated clubs in the south of the island along with three of the city's four historically mightiest clubs including Académica, Boavista and CD Travadores. Along with Académcia, Boavista, Desportivo, Travadores and Vitória, it is one of several teams that share the same ground, Estádio da Várzea, which has a capacity of 8,000. The CAF Cup was an annual competition organised by the CAF for domestic leagues runners-up of member associations who have not qualified to the pre-existing CAF international club competition the African Cup of Champions Clubs. Two-legged Tie
In sports (particularly association football), a two-legged tie is a contest between two teams which comprises two matches or "legs", with each team as the home team in one leg. The winning team is usually determined by aggregate score, the sum of the scores of the two legs. Santiago South Cup
The Santiago South Zone Cup (Portuguese: ''Copa da Ilha de Santiago Sul'', Capeverdean Crioulo, ALUPEC or ALUPEK: ''Kopa da dja di Santiagu Sul'') is the oldest regional cup competition in Cape Verde and is played during the season in the south of island of Santiago, Cape Verde consisting the municipalities of Praia, Ribeira Grande de Santiago and São Domingos. It consists of all the clubs from all the two regional divisions and are divided into about six rounds. The cup competition is organized by the Santiago South Regional Football Association (Associação Regional de Santiago Sul, ARFSS). The cup winner competed in the regional super cup final in the following season. Since 2007, the winner qualifies into the Cape Verdean Cup which were canceled from 2012 to 2017 due to financial and scheduling reasons. Santiago Island League (South)
The Santiago South Premier Division is a regional championship played in Santiago Island, Cape Verde and is a part of the Santiago South Zone Football Association. The winner of the championship plays in Cape Verdean football Championships of each season while the last two placed clubs relegates in the following season. In 2007 and 2013 when Sporting Praia automatically qualified in the championships as they won their national titles in the previous season, a second place club qualified to the national championships. Santiago Island League
The Santiago Island League was a regional championship played in all of Santiago Island until 2002 when it was broken up into two present divisions, the North and the South zones, Cape Verde. It formed a part of the Santiago Regional Football Association (''Associação Regional de Futebol de Santiago, ARFS'') The winner of the championship had played in Cape Verdean football Championships of each season. The island league was one of the two oldest in Cape Verde. Until the 1960s, the league included clubs from the entire southern portion of Cape Verde and functioned as a regional league. The Cape Verdean Football Championship or the Campeonato Caboverdiano de Futebol is a football competition that was created in 1976 in Cape Verde. A local championship was founded in 1953 before independence, when the islands were still part of the Portuguese Empire.
