CD Banyoles
Club Esportiu Banyoles is a Spanish football club based in the city of Banyoles, in the autonomous community of Catalonia. Founded in 1913, it plays in ''Tercera División'', holding home games at '' Estadi Nou Municipal'', which has a capacity of 4,000 spectators. History ''Club Deportiu Banyoles'' was founded on 15 August 1913 by Francesc Xavier Ballestero Pérez, changing name to ''Centre d'Esports Banyoles'' in 1925. In 1942, after the Spanish Civil War, the club was renamed to ''Club Deportivo Bañolas'' due to the prohibitions of non-Spanish names, and achieved their first-ever promotion to Tercera División in 1957. Relegated in 1959, the club only returned to ''Tercera'' in 1982, now the fourth level after the establishment of Segunda División B. Francisco Javier Flores Gómez (born 19 April 1982), known as Chechu, is a Spanish professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Callosa Deportiva CF. Albert Serra Figueras (born 6 October 1978) is a Spanish retired footballer who played as a central defender. Club career Born in Banyoles, Girona, Catalonia, Serra started his professional career at local UE Figueres in 2000, quickly becoming a regular for the Segunda División B team. Ferran Corominas Telechea (born 5 January 1983), known as Coro, is a Spanish former footballer who played as a forward. He spent the majority of his professional career with Espanyol, appearing in 200 competitive games while scoring 24 goals and winning the 2006 Copa del Rey with the club. Banyoles
Banyoles () is a city of 20,168 inhabitants (2021) located in the province of Girona in northeastern Catalonia, Spain. The town is the capital of the Catalan ''comarca'' "Pla de l'Estany". Although an established industrial centre many of the inhabitants commute to the nearby city of Girona (12 km to the south). Banyoles was connected to Girona by the gauge Palamós–Girona–Banyoles railway, which reached it by 1928. Service on the line continued until 1956.
