CCT Rail System Corporation is a US shortline railroad holding company that owns and operates the Rogue Valley Terminal Railroad Corporation. The company was founded in Superior, Wisconsin. In June 2014, the company relocated its offices to White City, Oregon in order to be closer to the rail operations of Rogue Valley Terminal Railroad History The company was founded on November 20, 2012, as RVTR Rail Holdings LLC for the purpose of acquiring the WCTU Railway LLC (WCTR) from Marmon Transportation Services LLC, a unit of Berkshire Hathaway. CCT successfully acquired WCTR on December 17, 2012. Transloading, also known as cross-docking, is the process of transferring a shipment from one mode of transportation to another. It is most commonly employed when one mode cannot be used for the entire trip, such as when goods must be shipped internationally from one inland point to another. Such a trip might require transport by truck to an airport, then by airplane overseas, and then by another truck to its destination; or it might involve bulk material (such as coal) loaded to rail at the mine and then transferred to a ship at a port. The EMD SW1500 is a Diesel-electric locomotive intended for switching service and built by General Motors' Electro-Motive Division from 1966 to 1974.
