CC8S
The Koenigsegg CC8S is a mid-engine sports car produced by the Swedish automobile manufacturer Koenigsegg. It was the company's first production automobile and the first production car to use the company's trademark dihedral synchro-helix actuation doors. At its introduction, it won several awards, including the Guinness World Record for the Most Powerful Production Engine and design awards from both Red Dot in Germany and Utmärkt Svensk Form in Sweden. Development The CC8S was developed from the CC prototype. It was the culmination of 8 years of research and development. Despite limited resources, the chassis, suspension, brakes, and several other components were designed in-house by Koenigsegg. The pre-production car was shown at the 2000 Paris Auto Show, the public's reaction to the car was favourable and international contacts were made. Koenigsegg Automotive AB () is a Swedish manufacturer of high-performance sports cars based in Ängelholm, Skåne County, Sweden. Company The company was founded in 1994 in Sweden by Christian von Koenigsegg, with the intention of producing a "world-class" sports car. Koenigsegg CC850
The Koenigsegg CC850 is a limited production mid-engine sports car manufactured by Swedish automobile manufacturer Koenigsegg. It was unveiled on the 19th of August 2022 at Pebble Beach, California, as a homage to the CC8S. Built to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the first production CC8S, the CC850 was originally limited to 50 units to celebrate the company's founder Christian von Koenigsegg's 50th birthday, however, due to increased demand it was announced six days later on the 25th of August 2022 that an additional 20 units would be built. Koenigsegg CCR
The Koenigsegg CCR is a mid-engine sports car manufactured by Koenigsegg and the successor to the company's previous offering, the CC8S. Overview Debuting at the March 2004 Geneva Auto Show, the CCR was the most powerful version of the Koenigsegg CC range cars at the time. Koenigsegg CC
The Koenigsegg CC was the prototype for the CC8S sports car made by the Swedish automobile manufacturer Koenigsegg. Overview Work on the car started in 1994. Koenigsegg wanted to build a sports car that could exceed the standards set by the McLaren F1 at the time, and achieve speeds over the 386 km/h (240 mph) set by the F1 in 1997. The design of the CC was inspired by the McLaren F1 along with the Ferrari F40. The car, initially painted silver, was then painted black when the new dihedral helix synchro actuation doors were fitted, and finally was painted its current colour. Dihedral Synchro-Helix
The dihedral synchro-helix actuation door system is a type of door with a hinge mechanism which allows the doors to rotate 90° by sweeping outwards and upwards at the hinge. It was designed and developed by Christian von Koenigsegg on behalf of high-performance sports cars manufacturer, Koenigsegg Automotive AB. It was conceived as revolutionary when it made its debut on the CC prototype (1994–2000). The first production car to be fitted with these doors was the Koenigsegg CC8S (2002–2003). The door's primary intention was to open high enough to avoid most curbs, but low enough to avoid garage ceilings. In an internal combustion engine, a supercharger compresses the intake gas, forcing more air into the engine in order to produce more power for a given displacement.
