CBYK-FM is a Canadian radio station, which broadcasts the programming of the CBC Radio One network in Kamloops, British Columbia. The station airs at 94.1 FM in Kamloops. History The station was established in 1977 as a local rebroadcaster of Vancouver's CBU, replacing private CBC affiliate CFJC (now CKBZ-FM). CBYK switched to CBTK-FM Kelowna after regional programming for the Southern BC Interior commenced from that station in 1987. On October 28, 2011, the CBC filed an application with the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) to convert CBYK-FM from a rebroadcaster of CBTK-FM to an anchor of a new 23-station regional CBC Radio One network for the Thompson and Cariboo regions, with regional programming originating from new studios in Kamloops. All-news radio is a radio format devoted entirely to the discussion and broadcast of news. All-news radio is available in both local and radio syndication, syndicated forms, and is carried on both major US satellite radio networks. All-news stations can run the gamut from simulcasting an all-news television station like CNN, to a "rip and read" headline service, to stations that include live coverage of news events and long-form public affairs programming. CBTK-FM is a Canadian radio station, which broadcasts the programming of the CBC Radio One network in Kelowna, British Columbia. The station broadcasts at 88.9 FM in Kelowna. History The station was launched in 1987. Prior to its launch, CBC Radio programming aired in Kelowna on private affiliate CKOV 630 in the AM band, while most of its other transmitters were rebroadcasters of Vancouver's CBU. Local programming CBTK produces its own local morning show, ''Daybreak South'' with Chris Walker, as well as a local afternoon show, ''Radio West'' with Sarah Penton, which airs across the whole interior of British Columbia. Blue River, British Columbia
Blue River is a small community of 175 residents at the 2021 census in British Columbia, situated on Highway 5 about halfway between Kamloops and Jasper, Alberta It is located at the confluence of the Blue and North Thompson Rivers. The local economy is supported by logging, tourism and transportation industries. Geography Blue River lies in a wide, gravelly part of the North Thompson River valley. Its podzolic soils are strongly acidic and coarse, with abundant sand, gravel and stones. Lytton, British Columbia
Lytton is a village of about 250 residents in southern British Columbia, Canada, on the east side of the Fraser River and primarily the south side of the Thompson River, where it flows southwesterly into the Fraser. Gold Bridge is an unincorporated community in the Bridge River Country of British Columbia, Canada. Although numbering only around 40 inhabitants, Gold Bridge is the service and supply centre for the upper basin of the Bridge River Valley, which includes recreation-residential areas at the Gun Lakes, Tyaughton Lake, Marshall Creek, and Bralorne; and the nearby ghost towns of Brexton and Pioneer Mine.
