CBN (Australian TV Station)
CBN is an Australian television station licensed to, and serving the regions surrounding Orange, Dubbo and central and southern New South Wales. History Origins CBN-8 Orange commenced broadcasting on 17 March 1962, licensed to ''Country Broadcasting Services'', owners of local radio station 2GZ. They soon changed their name to Country Television Services. CWN-6 Dubbo began transmission on 1 December 1965. Also owned by Country Television Services, they became the first station to completely relay another station's programming, although some station identification, such as test patterns, remained separate and program output for CWN originated from CBN's studios in Orange. The Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) is an American Christian media production and distribution organization. Founded in 1960 by Pat Robertson, it produces the long-running TV series ''The 700 Club'', co-produces the ongoing ''Superbook (1981 TV series), Superbook'' anime, and has operated a number of TV channels and radio stations. Its headquarters are in Virginia Beach, Virginia, United States. CBN has been described as having been "at the forefront of the culture wars since the network's inception in the early 1960s". MTN (TV Station)
MTN is a television station licensed to serve Griffith and the surrounding Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area (MIA). The station is owned and operated by WIN Corporation as a Seven Network affiliate. As WIN is the sole commercial television broadcaster in the area, they also supply the stations AMN, a Nine Network affiliate, and the supplementary station MDN, a Network 10 affiliate. This twinstick operation was permitted due to the broadcasting authorities considering Griffith and the MIA too small for three television companies, but large enough for a single company running two stations. The broadcast region covers approximately 39,700 square kilometres, encompassing 20 urban centres which include Leeton, Narrandera, Hay, Hillston and Lake Cargelligo. WIN is a television station serving southern New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory. It is the flagship station of the WIN Television network. History Television Wollongong Transmission Limited (TWT) was incorporated on 4 October 1955 by a group of local businessmen. Five years later, it was awarded a licence by the Postmaster-General's Department, over a number of other groups aligned to Sydney-based stations ATN, ATN-7 and TCN, TCN-9, to broadcast to the Illawarra and South Coast, New South Wales, South Coast regions. AMV is an Australian television station licensed to, and serving the regions surrounding Wagga Wagga and Albury-Wodonga in south western New South Wales and north eastern Victoria. The station was, for many years, merged with RVN-2 as ''the Riverina and North East Victoria Television Service''.
