AMV (TV Station)
AMV is an Australian television station licensed to, and serving the regions surrounding Wagga Wagga and Albury-Wodonga in south western New South Wales and north eastern Victoria. The station was, for many years, merged with RVN-2 as ''the Riverina and North East Victoria Television Service''. History Origins and license history AMV-4 commenced broadcasting on 7 September 1964. It broadcast programming from the three commercial stations in Sydney ( ATN-7, TCN-9 and TEN-10) alongside local programming including coverage of the Albury Gold Cup, the Ovens and Murray Football League Grand Final and the 1988 Miss Australia pageant. The station has continuously produced a half-hour regional news program on weeknights, currently known as '' Prime7 News'', with local news and sports reports produced in Albury but aired in bulletins put together at Prime7's Canberra headquarters. Australian Broadcasting Control Board
The Australian Broadcasting Control Board was an Australian government agency formed in 1949 whose main roles were to regulate commercial radio and television broadcasting. It was also the introducer and regulator for FM broadcasting. The agency held public hearings, issued commercial broadcasting licenses, and performed the technical planning for the national and commercial broadcasting networks. The Postmaster-General's Department was responsible for the engineering functions for the national transmitter facilities. Commercial broadcasters were responsible for their own construction and installation. The Australian Broadcasting Tribunal took over the functions of the Australian Broadcasting Control Board in the 1970s. Triple M Riverina
Triple M Riverina (ACMA call sign 2WG) is an Australian radio station which transmits on 1152 kHz on the AM band. It is licensed to the city of Wagga Wagga, New South Wales. The station was originally owned by Eric Vernon Roberts and his second wife Ida Annie "Nan" Roberts, who were both formerly school teachers in Narrandera. Both the studio and 100 watt AWA transmitter were originally located in the upper storey of the former Hardys' Building in Fitzmaurice Street overlooking the Wollundry Lagoon. A replacement transmitter of 2,000 watts, making 2WG one of the most powerful in Australia, was built by his brother Phil Roberts, on the Oura Road Transmitter site on 29 June 1932 and operated between 6.00 am and 11.00 pm. Cootamundra, nicknamed Coota, is a town in the South West Slopes region of New South Wales, Australia and within the Riverina. It is within the Cootamundra-Gundagai Regional Council. Young, New South Wales
Young is a town in the South Western Slopes region of New South Wales, Australia, and the largest town in the Hilltops Region.
