CBHT-TV
CBHT-DT (channel 3) is a CBC Television station in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. The station's studios are located on Chebucto Road in Halifax, and its transmitter is located on Washmill Lake Drive (near Bently Drive) on the city's west side. CBHT-DT serves as CBC's Atlantic Time Zone flagship station. The station broadcasts the network's schedule in Effects of time zones on North American broadcasting#In Canada, local time, except during live events. CBHT also became Cape Breton Island's CBC station, when CBIT-TV was closed in 2012 as part of the CBC's digital transition. CJCB-DT (channel 4) is a repeater television station in Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada, part of the CTV Television Network. Owned and operated by network parent Bell Media, the station has a transmitter in Blacketts Lake southwest of the city. It operated a TV studio in Sydney from 1954 until 2021, with all production and master control work now done in Halifax at CJCH-DT. On August 1, 2012, CJCB-DT—at the time known as CJCB-TV—became the only terrestrial broadcaster in the market. CBC repeater station, CBIT-TV, was closed the previous evening. ''Singalong Jubilee'' was a CBC Television programme produced between 1961 and 1974. It featured musical performances by local singers, playing folk, country, and gospel music, in studio on stage and on location. Anne Murray, Catherine McKinnon, Ken Tobias, Edith Butler, Robbie MacNeill and Bud Spencer who first gained fame on Don Messer's Singalong Jubilee then moved over to Singalong Jubilee and then to TV and Radio shows in the Vancouver CBC studios ( Come Listen Awhile, A Hatful of Music ). ''Don Messer's Jubilee'' was a Canadian folk musical variety show first broadcast on radio and later on television. The radio version aired from produced from 1939 to 1958 in Charlottetown for CBC Radio. The Television version show shot at the studios of CBHT in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. It was broadcast by CBC Television nationwide from 1957 until 1969, after almost two decades in various formats on CBC radio. Taking its name from band leader and fiddler Don Messer, the half-hour weekly program featured Messer and his band "Don Messer and His Islanders", as well as a guest performer.
