CAHB
The African Handball Confederation, (acronym CAHB) referring to a (french: Confédération Africaine de Handball), is the administrative and controlling body for African team handball. Founded on 15 January 1973 after the 2nd All-Africa Games in Lagos (Nigeria), it represents the national handball associations of Africa under the supervision of the International Handball Federation (IHF). The CAHB headquarters is located in Abidjan, Ivory Coast. Its current President is the Dr. Mansourou Aremou from Benin. The motto of the organisation is Let's build African Handball together. History The African Handball Confederation has been first continental confederation and with its 53 national federation. It is also the continental confederation with highest numbers of members within the IHF. The founding congress took place on January 15, 1973, in Lagos, Nigeria during the 2nd All-Africa Games. African Handball Champions League
African Handball Champions League is an annual international club handball competition run by the African Handball Confederation. The top club sides from Africa's handball leagues are invited to participate in the tournament, which serves as a qualifying tournament for the IHF Super Globe. Since 2013, Algeria has decided not to participate in any continental competition due to the participation of clubs from Western Sahara under the flag of Morocco as Algeria recognizes Western Sahara as a state. International Handball Federation
The International Handball Federation (IHF) is the administrative and controlling body for handball and beach handball. IHF is responsible for the organisation of handball's major international tournaments, notably the IHF World Men's Handball Championship, which commenced in 1938, and the IHF World Women's Handball Championship, which commenced in 1957. IHF was founded in 1946 to oversee international competitions. Headquartered in Basel, its membership now comprises 209 national federations. Mansourou Aremou
Mansourou Adolphe Aremou (born 16 April 1952) is a Beninese assistant professor and sports administrator. He was assistant professor at the National University of Benin from 1987 to 2009. Alongside his teaching activities, he held executive positions in the world of handball. He is the current President of African Handball Confederation (CAHB) since September 2008.
