The CAFA Nations Cup, is an international association football competition contested by the senior men's national teams of the members of the Central Asian Football Association (CAFA), the governing body of football in Central Asia. History The inaugural edition of the senior men's tournament was initially planned to be hosted by Tashkent in October 2018. It was not played out though. In March 2023, it was announced the inaugural edition of the senior men's tournament would commence in June 2023 in Tashkent and Bishkek for the six member associations, along with the addition of two invited guest teams: Russia and an unconfirmed Asian team. However, the start of the inaugural edition of the tournament was put in doubt again after it was reported in early April 2023 that Iran, Uzbekistan, Russia, and Iraq would instead take part in a four-nation tournament in June 2023. Central Asian Football Association
The Central Asian Football Association (CAFA) is an association of the football playing nations in Central Asia. In June 2014, the association was in principle approved by the Asian Football Confederation and approved at the Extraordinary Congress in January 2015 during the 2015 AFC Asian Cup. As a result, CAFA will in the future be able to have member(s) on the AFC executive committee. The formation of CAFA was spearheaded by the Iranian Football Federation following disputes with West Asian Football Federation members. Milliy Stadium
The Milliy Stadium ( uz, Milliy stadioni) is a football stadium in the city of Tashkent — the capital of Uzbekistan. Located in Chilanzar District of Tashkent, on Bunyodkor Avenue. It seats 34,000 spectators, thus becoming the second largest stadium in Uzbekistan after the Pakhtakor Stadium, which seats 35,000 spectators. It is the home arena of the FC Bunyodkor and Uzbekistan national football team. From its opening in September 2012 until June 2018, the stadium was called "Bunyodkor Stadium". In June 2018, the stadium was renamed "Milliy", which translated from the Uzbek language means "National", that is, "National Stadium" (Uzbek: ''Milliy stadioni''). The men's football tournament has been a regular Asian Games sporting event since the 1951 edition, while the women's tournament began in 1990. History The first Asian Games had football tournament. AFC Asian Cup
The AFC Asian Cup is the primary association football competition contested by the senior men's national teams of the members of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), determining the continental champion of Asia. It is the second oldest continental football championship in the world after Copa América. The winning team becomes the champion of Asia and until 2015 qualified for the FIFA Confederations Cup. The Asian Cup was held once every four years from the 1956 edition in Hong Kong until the 2004 tournament in China. WAFF Championship
The West Asian Football Federation Championship (), or simply WAFF Championship, is an international association football competition contested by the senior men's national teams of the members of the West Asian Football Federation (WAFF), the governing body of football in Western Asia. The championship has been held, on average, every two years. The current champion is Bahrain, having defeated hosts Iraq in the 2019 final. The most successful team is Iran, with four titles; however, they do not compete in the competition anymore as they are no longer members of the WAFF. History The inaugural WAFF Championship was held in 2000 in Jordan, with Iran winning the first edition. It was hosted in memory of Hussein of Jordan, who had died a year prior. EAFF E-1 Football Championship
EAFF E-1 Football Championship, known as the East Asian Football Championship from 2003 to 2010, and the EAFF East Asian Cup for the 2013 and 2015 editions, is a men's international football competition in East Asia for member nations of the East Asian Football Federation (EAFF). Before the EAFF was founded in 2002, the Dynasty Cup was held between the East Asian top four teams, and was regarded as the East Asian Championship. The ASEAN Football Federation Championship (less formally the AFF Championship or AFF Cup), currently known as the AFF Mitsubishi Electric Cup for sponsorship reason, is the primary association football tournament organized by the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF). Ibrahim Saleh Ibrahim Saleh Al-Mukhaini ( ar, إبراهيم صالح إبراهيم صالح المخيني; born 20 June 1997) is an Omani footballer who plays for Al-Nahda in the Oman Professional League and the Oman national football team. Mehdi Taremi ( fa, مهدی طارمی; born 18 July 1992) is an Iranian professional footballer who plays as a striker for Primeira Liga club Porto and the Iran national team. A late bloomer, he begun his career at Shahin Bushehr and Iranjavan, Taremi played for Persepolis between 2014 and 2018; he was Persian Gulf Pro League top scorer on two occasions (2015–16 and 2016–17).
